  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question How to move domain and all related parts to different user after license downgrade?

I figured it out, if someone else ever has the same issue: The process I was advised to do for some reason reset the IP assignment, but only for IPv6, the IPv4 was still there. As my personal network uses IPv6 as preferred, it never reached the website, but instead the base page for Plesk, which...

Question How to move domain and all related parts to different user after license downgrade?

I also checked /etc/apache2 and /etc/nginx webmail configs for their certificate line - the certificate listed there is the one that in the database is connected to the correct domain and would be the correct certificate. Yet, all tried web browsers claim to see a different certificate.

Question How to move domain and all related parts to different user after license downgrade?

@Martin Dias Any idea on that? The website is still using the general server certificate (which is a different domain and as such doesnt allow access due to HSTS) for its webmail, despite I have set mail and web certificate to it's own and have regenerated it via Let's Encrypt. Webmail is no...

Question How to move domain and all related parts to different user after license downgrade?

Hello, it seems I can make changes which take effect, but there is an issue with the certificate after the subscription change. Despite no configuration has been changed - and it later having been updated to use the same certificate as before (or rather re-saved, the same was still noted in the...

Question How to move domain and all related parts to different user after license downgrade?

Hello @Martin Dias, thank you, that seems to have worked, though the command closed with an error: SUCCESS: Owner of subscription '<redacted>' was changed. [2025-04-10 18:42:15.011] 51288:67f7f4e64535a ERR [util_exec] proc_close() failed ['/opt/psa/admin/bin/dnsmng' '--update'...

Resolved Removing failed backup errors, how to fix?

That was indeed the case, after removing the three entries and the respective session files in /opt/psa/PMM/sessions/ the backup error display has vanished. Thank you!

Question resolv.conf problems with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

Sorry, I forgot that one. Looking at it, it shows all used IP's, which I would have to anonymize. If it's necessary, I'll do that, but given you said "leave that, for the moment" let's see if it works without. Yes, those datacenter nameservers are specified in /etc/netplan settings (and...

Resolved Removing failed backup errors, how to fix?

The files do not exist, there is only a line shown in the panel - but there is no corresponding files on remote or /var/lib/psa/dump. Clicking to close the message leads to the error noted.

Question How to move domain and all related parts to different user after license downgrade?

Hello, due to the inacceptable plesk pricing we decided to downgrade to the lowest license type that doesn't allow clients, given we don't actually need them and had the license mostly for the server overview that for some reason isn't available on lower licenses. Unfortunately we seemingly...

Question resolv.conf problems with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

Hey, thanks for answering, @learning_curve, much appreciated. a) No. b) We had two dist-upgrades, but are using netplan. c) We are using resolvectl, systemd-resolve is not found. d) The domain has been anonymized. The DNS servers are the ones provided by the datacenter. e) Spam blacklists...

Resolved Removing failed backup errors, how to fix?

Hello, we unfortunately had to replace hardware of the system during backup time due to an emergency, and now have failed incremental backups for two domains as they were running when the system had to be taken offline immediately. Removing those is not possible, it errors with: Unable to...

Question resolv.conf problems with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

Unfortunately, after a reboot, this is also overwritten and DNS is back to what 127.0.0.53 finds. Anyone knows how one can permanently fix the DNS to 127.0.0.1 to allow spam blacklists to work reliably on Ubuntu 24.04?

Input Enormous price increases yet again for 2025

Oh boy, they're getting even more ridiculous: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/28109152631319-Hetzner-is-discontinuing-Plesk-and-ELS-licenses-as-of-December-31-2024-What-steps-should-I-take-to-continue-using-Plesk No mention of the reasons or any actions on their end.

Input Enormous price increases yet again for 2025

Intel at least has a competitor that provides similar performance and actually excerts market pressure that can keep prices lower. Plesk and cPanel seem to be the same thing basically. There is of course other solutions, but they tend to be more specialized.

Input Enormous price increases yet again for 2025

Well, I'm not having joy with that, but staying is even less joy, as some of the licenses cost more than the cloud servers they are used on now.
