• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Resolved systemd User Manager activity

I only noticed now that this approach stops the majority of logging into syslog including maillog. So it is not really a solution.

Question What happened to verbose mail logging?

It seems I tricked myself a while ago: Resolved - systemd User Manager activity This actually also had impacted the maillog. Reverting the changes and I have my logs back.

Question What happened to verbose mail logging?

Gives me: journalctl -u postfix -- No entries -- I already applied https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12377559907095-How-to-enable-or-disable-Postfix-debug-mode But this does not change anything although smtpd is definetely running with the v parameter. I would expect log entries like...

Question What happened to verbose mail logging?

I have an issue with outgoing email getting stuck in the queue and I wanted to debug as in the old days. I must admit I haven't looked at mail logs since a while now as the server was running smooth. I am used to a super verbose syslog file in which I can see every connect and every incoming...

Resolved DNS does not start via systemd

I also have to change the bind9.service after every update to remove the "type=forking". @Plesk team: Can you please check what is wrong here.

    Question Fehler audit: type=1400 audit(1701591128.869:160162): apparmor="ALLOWED" operation="sendmsg" profile="php-fpm" name="/run/systemd/notify" pid=448788

    Resolved systemd User Manager activity

Hi @Peter Debik, PHP-FPM sessions are actually a good thought. I can see the systemd logs immediately if I call a webpage. The webpage and the system user matches. Example below Mar 6 16:21:00 srv systemd[1]: Created slice user-10018.slice. Mar 6 16:21:00 srv systemd[1]: Starting User...

    Resolved systemd User Manager activity

I see the same entries in my log as well generated every 30 seconds. All generated by/for system users that neither have ssh or any other login shell available. There also no cron jobs scheduled for these users. This behaviors is rather "new" but I cannot tell since when exactly. I would...

Issue Unable to send emails after upgrading to 18.0.34

Exact same issue here after (automatic) upgrade to 18.0.34. Log when trying to send email from webmail: saslauthd service is not existing Compared old main.cf with latest main.cf and removed After this I also had to unban IP adresses from IP Address banning as all the unsuccessful retries...

Resolved Are there problems with Upgrading from Ubuntu 16.x LTS to 18.x LTS?

I just did a distupgrade from 16.04. to 18.04 with Onyx. Not sure what Plesk team has to test over the last couple of month/years here. The dist upgrade went super smooth, although it is a 5 year old production server. Before you update you have to adjust the sources.list. Otherwise your plesk...

Forwarded to devs Issues with AppArmor

It is almost 2020 and the issues are still existing. Even with Ubuntu 18.04. and Plesk 18.0.21, the same errors are flooding my logs over and over again. This is very frustrating after 2,5 years after the issue was reported first.

Forwarded to devs Issues with AppArmor

Old thread but the issues are still valid .Thanks @B_P for describing the fixes for a) and b). They worked for me. c) occurs quite often in my setup. Always during processing emails that are being forwarded internally. I didn't find a solution yet. However, I don't have any knowledge about...

    Issue DMARC REJECT after forwarding

Thanks for pointing that out. Unfortunately this issue has not been fixed, or at least I can observe the exact same behaviour as described above. I cannot use the DMARC feature right now (although I don't think I miss something)
