When trying to pull changes the same error occurred again. Issue was resolved by plesk support and and an article about this issue will be added to the knowledge base.

Reinstalling the git component solved the issue (while running the repair script doesn't). The old GIT configuration is lost but I can easily restore it. Thanks!

I changed the "PrivateTmp=true" setting in the systemd configuration, reloaded system-ctl and the service started again. I fear that this is only a temporary solution because using a private temp appears to be the recommended setting. Any ideas?
