• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Dsiable ftp and enable SFTP

Thanks, Johnathan. I've also changed the setting to Require Explicit FTP over TLS: Are clients required to use FTP over TLS? TLSRequired yes ...and everything seems to work as expected. :)

Change Plesk Default TCP Port 8443

Thanks, Igor: After reading the KB article, I am left with the impression that the short answer [for Linux administrators] is "no". Would that be correct?

    Dsiable ftp and enable SFTP

Is this KB article still relevant for Plesk 11.x? What client should Windows users use to connect? i.e., Will Filezilla for Windows support TLS? Are any other modifications required? e.g., Will ProFTPd continue to listen on TCP Port 21 or will it also begin listening on any other ports?

    Best Practices: FTP account creation

    AFAICT, proftpd uses system user credentials (i.e., PAM)... [root@www ~]# cat /etc/xinetd.d/ftp_psa ... service ftp { flags = IPv6 disable = no socket_type = stream protocol = tcp wait = no user = root...

Change Plesk Default TCP Port 8443

Is there a safe way to change the default TCP port that Plesk uses? (I'll be demonstrating Plesk at a conference this weekend and the network at the venue blocks all ports except a handful of the Well-Known Ports.) :(

Configuring Web Presence Builder as a Standard Feature in Service Plans?

Web Presence Builder appears in the list of Service Plans (as an add-on) but not as a feature for any of the Service Plans and it doesn't appear to be an option that can be added after the Subscription has been created. (AFAICT, it can only be added to the subscription during [manual]...

    Discussion of plesk ui usability

Personally, I find it confusing enabling/disabling the use of SSL for a domain. Currently, it's buried down under Subscriptions -> Example.com -> Websites & Domains -> Web Scripting & Security. Also, I'd like the ability to use a separate SSL certificate for all e-mail transactions (e.g., SMTP...

What is the global php.ini path?

On my system, /usr/share/php is empty (and there is no php5 subdirectory): [root@www php]# ll /usr/share/php/ total 0 I believe that clients' ability to modify the subscription's php.ini can be disabled. Read the article "Customize PHP Configuration" in the Administration Guide for more...

What is the global php.ini path?
