• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

cron jobs and chroot shell are broken on 10.2

I reported the path error to the docs team. I hope the functionality gets fixed also.

Chroot cron shell for users with a non-chroot shell

According to Execution of Scripts via Cron Task Scheduler (Linux Hosting) in the Administrator's Guide all cronjobs are run using a chroot shell. To me it would make sense that users with a non-chroot shell configured should also be able to run commands using this non-chroot shell. Does this...

Yeah, but you'll still need root privileges to run that chown command. :)

    User permissions to files

Only apache or root will probably have permissions to delete those files, so you'll have to make sure the delete commands are executed as either one of those user. You could for instance log in via SSH and remove the files that way as either root or apache. Or you could create a little PHP...

    proftpd: no such user found

I had an issue where a user could not log in via FTP and the log would show: The user password contained several special characters, like $, ( and two @'s. Changing the password to a simpler string allowed the user to log in via FTP again. I guess there is a bug with certain characters in...

    psa-php53-configurator installs 32-bit php53-sqlite2 on 64-bit OS

When upgrading to the php53* packages on RHEL/CentOS 5 x86_64 Plesk installs the psa-php53-configurator package (and should probably remove the psa-php5-configurator package), which also installs a 32-bit php53-sqlite2 package. This is both the wrong architecture (i386 versus x86_64) and version...

    MySQL & SSL

Installing an SSL certificate in Plesk sets this up for HTTPS access in Apache. Using an SSL certificate for a MySQL server is a totally different thing and is can't be set up via Plesk. http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/secure-connections.html Are you trying to connect to the MySQL...

    Java

The original post was about JavaScript, not Java. They are two totally different technologies, despite their names. JavaScript is usually used as a client-side technology and that error message does not sound like a server-side problem. Maybe you just disabled JavaScript in your browser...

Firewall module ignores system policy for incoming traffic

When I install the firewall module (Plesk 10.3.1 with the all micro updates applied) and set the 'System policy for incoming traffic' to 'Allow incoming from all' then the end of the generated firewall script looks like this: It looks like all udp and tcp traffic is dropped (/sbin/iptables...

    User permissions to files

Navigate to the domain in Plesk > Web Hosting Settings > PHP Support and there you can select Apache module (mod_php), FastCGI or CGI from the dropdown menu. Change SSH Port in Plesk 10

You should only need to modify /etc/ssh/sshd_config so it reads 'Port 3333' and then restart the sshd service. Plesk doesn't really come into play here AFAIK.

Need urgent help - PHP 5.2 on Plesk 10.3.1

    Missing Functions in Plesk?

You can't do this via the Plesk web interface, but you can via the CLI. For CGI/FastCGI see Applying Custom PHP Settings on Domains with PHP in CGI/FastCGI Mode If you're using mod_php you can put the custom settings for a vhost in its vhost.conf or vhost_ssl.conf. Not that .htaccess...
