  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Say I want to use Varnish as default for all domains or domains that want it. Can I not set up a Varnish container and then have end users configure Docker Proxy Rules if they want to use it? Right now the Rules only appear to the admin user. We can't offer Docker anything to Customer level?

    Hi Igor, No, we followed this guide: http://kb.odin.com/en/1775 So http://webmail.domain.com will be SquirrelMail instead of Horde. So to add SquirrelMail to that "Webmails" table or change Horde 6.2.9 so it says SquirrelMail and will be displayed in the dropdown in Plesk. Cheers.

    So we replaced Horde with SquirrelMail pretty easily but in Plesk under the mail settings the dropdown still displays Horde as an option. Is there a database query we can run to change that to Squirrelmail. Or some other config setting somewhere?

    We ahave been battling the same issue. We found the virus with this: http://download.drweb.com/drweb+cureit/ I'd be curious to know how you found it because we found 3 programs prior to this and none of them found the files in c:\windows\system32 which were bjlmon.dll and toolhelp32.dll.

    And of course, no Awstats. As a webhost, we care about features that can offer our end-users and Plesk 8 brings us one new feature - Domain Aliases (4 years after cpanel managed it). Desktop? Who cares about that crappy gimmick. Queue manager? What, did we forget how to login with SSH...

    We just ran into a similar problem. We couldn't add a name with a . in it (name.surname). We solved it by switching the domain to an exclusive IP but that isn't a very good solution on a normal shared server and luckily this instance was on a dedicated servfer (our own).

    On Plesk 7.0.x the SQL server ODBC setup section had a server field. This is missing in 7.5.3. There's a dropdown that says "Local" or blank. So if you run an external SQL server, ODBC connections don't work.

    Well, obviously I'd give the car to one of my senior mechanics who works for me and tell him to fix it. Because I'm not a mechanic, I'm a driver but because I have so many Ferraris parked outside, I'm damn well sure I have the best mechanics working for me. ;)
