• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Log rotation and statistics settings

@learning_curve "A bit tricky for anybody to give an example taken from your setups / server... ;) but, you could raise a service ticket with Plesk / give them server access & they could advise you further, with regard to your own setups and your own Plesk managed areas of logs / log rotation...

Question Log rotation and statistics settings

@learning_curve "Depends on how you have setup your own service plans / domains / templates etc as that could / would make a difference between the two" Could you explain this or give an example? Settings seem the exact same to me . Which one will be followed if 1 is set to 1 month and the...

Question Log rotation and statistics settings

Thanks for taking time to reply @learning_curve Looking further into it ... I think Question 1 and 2 are only about domain related log files and not about system log files. I think these are general settings which overrule the settings in Question 3 and 4. If I do not enable 'Log rotate -...

Question Log rotation and statistics settings

@Peter Debik (or anyone else) Any thoughts on what I said in my previous post?

Question Repository extras is listed more than once in the configuration

@IgorG Haha, I think you're right, but they don't seem to have support or contact address. Let's just hope for the best :)

Question Repository extras is listed more than once in the configuration

@IgorG That is a very good question indeed. But why didn't the installer delete the CentOS repos then? Well, I will delete the CentOS repo's then and hope for the best ... (If someone else could confirm I can safely delete the CentOS repos I still would like to hear!)

    Input AlmaLinux ... it works!

@pleskpanel Thanks for your clarification. I understand now what you mean. Well, Rocky Linux is not available yet and AlmaLinux is. So I am using it, hoping for the best. As I said, I've got a good feeling about this. They are very clear in their promise to offer a free product with support...

Question Log rotation and statistics settings

Hi @Peter Debik Thanks for replying. 1) If it does not influence AWStats, what could be a reason to retain statistics more than 1 month? For example, why would it benefit me to keep the logs for 3 months instead of 1 month? 2) Okay, I get what you are saying. But are these different logs...

    Input AlmaLinux ... it works!

@pleskpanel So because one party screws up, we can't trust any other party anymore? I'm going to give it a fair chance.

Question Repository extras is listed more than once in the configuration

Thanks Igor. Can someone confirm this maybe? Is it safe to delete CentOS repo's after switching to another OS (AlmaLinux)?

Question Repository extras is listed more than once in the configuration

If I remove the CentOS-Extras.repo file the message "Repository extras is listed more than once in the configuration" disappears. Does anyone know if I should delete the 2 other CentOS repo files (CentOS-AppStream.repo and CentOS-Base.repo) as well, now that I have switched to AlmaLinux? Or...

    Input AlmaLinux ... it works!

@Linulex I get what you are saying. I do believe though that the people behind AlmaLinux have the right intentions. They have also proven they can do it, because they already have delivered a working product to the community. They took their mission seriously and acted a) fast and b) good. So...

Question Log rotation and statistics settings

Hi, I have a few questions about log rotation and statistics settings. I numbered the questions so they can (hopefully) easily be replied. To me it looks as if there is some overlap in settings (but I'm probably wrong). Who can clarify? Tools & Settings > General Settings > Server Settings...

Question Repository extras is listed more than once in the configuration

Hi @IgorG Many thanks for your reply. What exactly do I need to do? I first installed CentOS 8 and with the help of a deploy-tool I switched to AlmaLinux. In the directory /etc/yum.repos.d I find the following files: almalinux.repo almalinux-ha.repo CentOS-AppStream.repo CentOS-Base.repo...

Question Bounce/block spam based on keyword in subject?

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping for an easier solution like an extension so I can configure it easily through Plesk Panel. Is this the only way to go?

Question Bounce/block spam based on keyword in subject?

Lately I have been receiving quite a lot of spam on a daily basis. I think the spam comes from one and the same sender / 'company'. I use the blacklist in the (server wide) mail settings to block the sender domains, but they seem to have bought a lot of different domains (mainly ending on .cam...

    Question Fail2ban sqlite database huge

@SteveITS Stopping the service and deleting files is a workaround to get rid of the large files but won't prevent the new database to grow big again. Try what I said: create a cron job to run every night which vacuums the database. That will prevent it from growing extremely large.

Question Repository extras is listed more than once in the configuration

Hi, I installed CentOS 8, then replaced it by AlmaLinux and then installed Plesk. Everything is working fine. When I execute a dnf operation, for example an update or install of a package I get to see this message: Repository extras is listed more than once in the configuration My question...
