• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Features for the next versions

bwmatrix - Some feedback on your ideas! 2. Zend Optimizer - include it with the Plesk installer so we can just install it with a new license on new servers that we deploy. Not everybody would want this, but it could be an option in the setup software. However, zend may not allow it to be...

    Features for the next versions

MattR - I agree, great work JT :D SupermanInNY - It should be possible to setup a subdomain as a normal domain name with a validity period, thats how it has been done in previous versions.

    Features for the next versions

Thats great news! The team has done really well, the second release of the Windows version has almost as many features as the *nix version which has taken 3 years to get to where it is. I, as well as everybody else will be looking forward to the next version :D

    Features for the next versions

Mertz - As jaytee says, if you have migrated from a 6.5 server then it would still retain the catchall settings. Just set it to the bounce option. sebastian - I dont see much use for this? A subdomain belongs under a domain and so when a domain is enabled/disabled the subdomain should have...

    Upgrade plesk 6.5 to 7

At the moment, it isnt possible to upgrade 6.5 -> 7.0 on a single server. It should be possible to migrate using the backup/restore utilities but this hasnt been tested fully. They will be releasing a utility to upgrade from 6.5 to 7.0 sometime soon hopefully.

Please let us know what you think about PLESK 7 for windows!

On a test server, its great, so much better than 6.5. 10/10 for the work put into it by the swsoft team. On a production server I cannot say yet as havent been able to upgrade. Will be posting once the upgrades are done tho :D

    Fix non_ssl problem?

As jaytee says, Plesk 7 fixes the problem as each site is created as its own IIS virtual server.

    Plesk 7.0

bchawla - The is no fix, PSA 7 is completely re-worked and is much better than 6.5 I wouldnt recommend that every user on a domain has the same password, its a big security risk. A domain only has one password anyway, the FTP/frontpage password.

    Feature-requests for Plesk 7.1's successor

Not sure if this has been suggested before, but I'd love to see the option under client templates for the template/skin the client has. Have just installed 7.1 so might be posting some more ideas :D

    Feature-requests for Plesk 7.1's successor

Personally, I dont think there needs to be a transition with the frontpage user/pass. The form would start to get complex, and 99% of our clients always use the same user/pass for both anyway!

    Feature-requests for Plesk 7.1's successor

Cranky - The Frontpage login is the same under Windows because the system accounts are used by Frontpage. However, not being on Windows, all the other versions use a seperate file for authentication. It would be possible, but I would keep it simple and force the same FTP/Frontpage...

Using Access .mdb outside of httpdocs

We have been having clients create a folder within the httpdocs folder, and password protecting this so nobody can enter the URL and download the contents. However, in Plesk 7 for Windows, there is a directory specifically for uploading access databases and other similar files.

When these serious bug can be fixed?

I believe it will be fixed under PSA 7 for Windows.

Looks like I'm hacked.. Suggestions please..

The patch does not install the SQL server fix, but at the last step is does suggest that this should be installed if it is needed, along with a URL to the download.

    ASP stopping

ASP stops running on our PSA 6.5.1 server, a restart of IIS, and sometimes a restart of the server is needed. We have applied to mapping and fpmapping fixes, but this doesnt seem to have cured it. Does anybody have any ideas how to track this down and fix it? Thanks, Paul
