• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

How to access Plesk in Parallels Desktop

I'm trying to run Plesk for testing on Parallels Desktop 8. My VM is running CentOS 6.5 and I can access it fine via SSH. However I cannot access the Plesk web interface or any vhost content via the web browser. I'm expecting the web GUI at https://10.22.33.44:8843 and the Default page on...

Plesk 11 Upgrade Scheduled Backup not working

Sadly not, which was my mistake for not following up with them on this. I'm ordering internet at my new home today though, once I've settled I'll follow up on this problem.

Plesk 11 Upgrade Scheduled Backup not working

Quick update: I've not been able to give my details to Parallels yet - I've just moved countries and my life is a tad unsettled at the moment. As soon as I've got my internet working again I'll let you know if and how they can fix it. It would be interesting to hear what configurations you...

Viewing website at an IP address or otherwise

Hi there, yes it is possible to preview a website on a "dummy domain" in Plesk before you change the DNS records. I know the feature exists, but I can't tell you how reliable it is. It's worth a try though: head over to Tools and Settings - under General you'll find the Website Preview...

Plesk 11 Upgrade Scheduled Backup not working

A bit more info on this mystery OK I have some more information on this: The support team got back to me very quickly, basically denying that this is a problem. According to the KB article Igor mentioned earlier it has been fixed in MU 20. However as we know on some systems the issue still...

Plesk 11 Upgrade Scheduled Backup not working

Same problem here: the scheduled backup is now working fine, however it stays on the local server and does not get copied over to the FTP repository. FTP details are correct, and manual backups are created on the repository. So it looks like there's a problem with copying the backup file over...

Problem forwarding emails hosted on another Plesk server

Hi there, I've run into a problem where email forwarding from one Plesk server doesn't seem to work to an email address hosted on another Plesk server. Have you heard of this before? Let me explain: so I've got email@domain1.com hosted on Plesk Machine 1, and this email forwards to...

Plesk 11 Upgrade Scheduled Backup not working

Here's a step by step article on how to install the script: http://wpguru.co.uk/2012/09/how-to-bring-back-scheduled-backups-in-plesk-11/ Hope this helps! I've tested it on several systems and it works like a breeze. Thanks, Igor!

    Subversion (SVN)

I second that quesiton! A one-click Subversion install would be fantastic. @Techforce I've seen that article - sadly it doesn't work for me. Any tips on how to make it work? All I get is a "Forbidden" warning. Earlier I at least for the credentials window, but no matter how many times I've...

    Map subdomain to svn repository

Thanks for sharing, Amin! I know this is an old article, but Subversion is something I'd like to use with Plesk 10 and 11 too. Sadly neither guide is working for me. Which domain do you actually get to use /svn on then? All I get is a "Forbidden" screen, despite setting permissions to the...

Wordpress on 1&1 - is it this hard?

I don't have that problem - WordPress installs into either root or a subdirectory (/wordpress by default) without a hitch. It's a true one-click-installer. Make sure you have the correct webspace selected at the top.

    Plesk Failure on 1and1

I wonder if it's a hardware problem that's causing this. Have you got a second server that you can upload a backup to and see if the same thing happens? Or is that not an option? What type of server is it, and what OS is it running? Just curious. I have 5 machines with 1&1 in the UK since two...

    Schedule a PHP script

PHP scripts are usually written so that they execute something that gets displayed in a browser. If you're using PHP as a scripting language for command line execution the results may well be very different. Who write the script, and what does it do? Also, the first line of the PHP file...

    Schedule a PHP script

That IS the command. OK so let's assume in your web browser the following file is your file: http://www.yourdomain.com/test.php Then you can call it as a scheduled task like this: /usr/bin/php /var/www/vhosts/yourdomain.com/httpdocs/test.php Obviously replace test.php with your...

    FTP Failure

I think I had this problem once on a 1&1 server with Plesk 9 sometime ago. It would only allow me to connect in active mode from FileZilla. The weird thing is that passive FTP used to work without problems, then one day out of a sudden it stopped. Passive FTP connections were still working from...

    Schedule a PHP script

Hi EddieA, I've had that problem recently too - you'll have to tell the command line the full path to PHP on your server. On CentOS it's /usr/bin/php so your full command under Scheduled Tasks should look like this: /usr/bin/php /var/www/vhosts/DOMAIN/###/example.php Notice...

Disk quota exceeded - but its not

Hi Norbert, thanks for letting me know - so basically if files in my clients account belong to another user, they count as that other user's quota, correct? In which case I have a different problem, but I was wondering how Plesk works out the quota for a client. Here's a screenshot of my...

Disk quota exceeded - but its not

Hi Norbert, I have the same problem - one of my clients is using 1.8GB of disk space, but Plesk says he's using nearly 7GB... Can't be right. Even with database usage he's not even using 2GB in total. How did you solve the problem then? All files in my client's httpdocs directory belong to...

How do I set up Wordpress in Plesk ?

Hi Roger, when you install WordPress from the Applications list then the default location would be /wordpress. However, if that's the only thing you're running you can delete that field so WordPress (or any other application you choose) gets installed into the root directory of your domain. I...
