  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Sorry guy, you may have php5 installed, but that's not standard on Plesk 8. Plesk 8 uses php5 for the control panel but that's it. Check your component information in the "Server" section. You may have installed the wrong version of Zend.

    Are you trying to host a site for a customer on a box without a public IP? Does the customer own a domain name? What do your DNS settings look like?

    In your control panel go to: Server -> License Management -> and click on "Retrive Key". If you have a firewall in place (and you should) be sure that port 5224 is open. Plesk uses that port to update your key.

    Use the reconfigurator utility. Do this from shell: #/usr/local/psa/bin/reconfigurator.pl map_file This will create a file named "map_file" - edit this file with the proper ip's. Directions are in the file.

    Have you registered these 2 IP addresses with your registraar as nameservers? Just setting them up in your zone will not make them proper nameservers.

    There is, you can use the mchk utility. Simply run: /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/mchk --with-spam This should activate Spamassassin on all mailboxes.

    If you're looking for a free OS you might want to try CentOS. It's basically a clone of RHEL. I have all of my boxes running it and they're fine.

    Horde is the default webmail interface for Plesk. However, you don't have to use it. You could always install and use Squirrelmail.
