• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

unable to open configuration file /etc/psa/psa.conf: Permission denied

Today I noticed exactly the same message in my syslog after every spamassassin (spamd) check: Dec 20 22:09:21 host spam_hook[20122]: unable to open configuration file /etc/psa/psa.conf: Permission denied permissions seems to be ok: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2474 2009-11-21 13:20 psa.conf

    Greylisting fails sometimes

ok, thanks for the quick answer. I am currently using 9.2.2, which still has this problem, but I will try to upgrade to 9.2.3 soon and will report then.

    Greylisting fails sometimes

Hi IgorG, I just read the hotfix description, but it seems that it addresses an completely other problem. I am not an expert with the internals of plesk's greylisting, but the problem described in my first post seems not to have anything to do with memory allocation. But I will give it a try...

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

Honestly said, I am getting tired of explaining the problem in every single post in this thread again and again and still have the feeling of not being understand. of course not, but you told me to add this as none of the other entries work exactly and the syslog entry would similar to this...

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

the problem still exists... Please not that we have a SKIP because the greylisting triple was already known, not because it is whitelisted. Anyway, the domain patterns refer to the domain of the sending mail server (tfbnw.net), not to the domain of the e-mail address (facebook.com)...

    greylisting/email blocked/hidden black listing settings/match string/list type: black

Hi Brujo, how do you have edited the Black-/Whitelist? Please make "grey_listing -i" to output your greylisting settings for your machine. Christoph P.S. See my other thread where I have posted a whitel and blacklist which works with ebay etc

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

ah ok, now I get what you have meant with "effectiveness". You're right, greylisting of course has a couple of conceptual flaws. see the whiteliste above. I have facebookmail.com *facebookmail.com *tfbnw.net tfbnw.net in my whitelist. I really assume that this is related to the...

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

Hi trialotto, thanks for taking your time again. " a lot" is a bit exaggerated :-) There some double entries, which is mainly related to my syntax problem. (testing purpose). But as you said, this doesnt matter. For me greylisting works great (except the issue withe the black and...

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

Greylisting behavior part IV ok, I understood the term "learning" as something which does the greylisting by its own. I would expect the greylisting filter to reject something when I have put it on the blacklist, which it certainly does. I gave this example of normal behavior as you have...

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

Greylisting Behavior Part 2 It is neither the case as my original problem is different to the discussion we had now :-) My original syntax related question was: Why are some reverse DNS domain names backlisted while others are not. Concrete: Why is Jul 12 00:14:28 hostname...

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

Greylisting behaviour Part 1 Actually not, as my original question referred to the syntax for entries of the back and whitelist, which is not clear yet. Regarding to the command line tool documentation "some kind of" patterns (regexp?) are allowed for mail addresses, but only domain names...

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

One addition: the documentation of the cmd line utility (see second post in this thread above) talks about list entries for "mail addresses" and for "domains". As far as I understood it correctly "domains" refers to reverse dns entries. (Please correct if I am wrong, but nothing else makes sense...

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

Hi trialotto, thanks for your answer. I will try to answer your questions/statements as good as possible. If you mean for example that acyh104.neoplus.adsl.tpnet.pl is different to tmdidactic@dioezese-linz.at. This due to the fact that spammers fake the sender address, thats why the plesk...

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

Hi Denis, thanks for your reply. I am actually not using the cmdline tool and I haven't used it before. Instead I am using the Greylisting Manager from http://www.haggybear.de/, which actually seems to use the cmdline anyway and makes the entire greylisting management very handy. But...

    Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Blac-/Whitelist)

Syntax for Greylistingfilter (Black-/Whitelist) Hello, I am using the "new" PLESK 9.2.1 greylisting feature since two weeks now. But I am not able to figure out which syntax is used to define the Black-/Whitelist. On the first sight it seems to be Regular Expressions as a default entry is...

    Greylisting fails sometimes

Assertion `from != ((void *)0) && *from != '\0'' failed I got a nice hint in a German forum about this. Doesn't this actually mean that an empty "from" field bypasses the greylisting component as the assertion fails?!?!? Maybe some developers from Parallels could have a look at this and...

    Greylisting settings fails

After /usr/local/psa/bin/grey_listing -i I noticed that greylisting is also enabled on domain level. Does this imply that there are also B/W-Lists on domain level?
