• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    DNS - SOA contains \'s

Thanks, it's always nice to see a little more of the internals :). They already fixed powerdns (our secondary server, it can use mysql so I wrote a simple script that adds/removes the domains), so I don't have any use for it anymore. The backslash isn't in the actual DNS packet, it has...

    magic_quotes_gpc off

FYI didn't read the whole discussion so might be redundant/pointless. <Directory /path/to/dir> works fine with me. phpinfo(); is unreliable. My selinux was keeping PHP from reading it and phpinfo() happily reported it parsed that file and every file in /etc/php.d whilst it did NOT!!

open_basedir issue -- about to throw plesk into the trash and install cpanel

I actually had very similar issues with open_basedir. These seemed (I resolved several issues with Plesk but most, if not all, seem to had their origination at selinux being in the way at some point, hence selinux was either blocking stuff that didn't make it work, or selinux prevented the...

open_basedir issue -- about to throw plesk into the trash and install cpanel

Some how I don't have any openbase_dir issues anymore since I solved the selinux problems. Solving the selinux problems was relatively easy (it was much harder to find the solution). In our case it was simply disabling selinux, reinstalling the plesk selinux package with rpm and the --force...

Plesk issues, about every update. What am I missing?

Hey there, ever since we installed plesk I'm having issue after issue. Obviously I must be doing something wrong, right? We have a default installed Fedora Core 4 machine, on which we installed plesk 8.0 in the beginning. We had several weird problems with, amongst which applications not...

Is there a tool to rebuild selinux permissions properly?

Hey there, the selinux on Fedora Core 4/5 keeps biting me in the *** :). Every time I think it's functioning properly there always seems to be one more thing that won't work. Now PHP can't inject mail into qmail (set it to use qmail-inject in case that matters..). Anyways, is there a...

    php.ini

Sorry for the late re', been quite busy and holidays n such :) Anyways I reenabled selinux. It worked straight away (using ls -Z appearantly because I move php.ini to php.ini.old and recreated php.ini which automatically assigned it etc_t instead of tmp_t). So I'd like to report it works...

Give a user full home directory access

Sure hope you understand the risks n such... Those rights aren't there for nothing you know, somebody (probably more knowledgable than us) has put thought in that. For example there is a conf directory in there that will pretty much allow to override any apache/php configuration there is...

Mail to nonexistent User: Forward to another host?

? Not sure I get the question, or you don't get the answer :) Use plesk as the final destination (ie the server with the pop accounts and such), use the kerio server(s) as backup mx. The kerio servers then don't need to know anything about the users for the domain, they will simply hold the...

Give a user full home directory access

Perhaps it has to do with normal users not modifying vhost.conf, screwing up directory structure, removing logs, etc... Unless ofcourse you like them overriding stuff...

Mail to nonexistent User: Forward to another host?

BTW depending on the setup, the primary MX can request the mail from the secondary MX once it comes up using ETRN (but I doubt plesk supports configuring this).

Mail to nonexistent User: Forward to another host?

Perhaps you should read up on how SMTP works... Servers that are set up as Backup MX (ie your MX 20 record) should _NEVER_ be made final destination for the domain. Usually one needs to set it up as a relay server for domain X (I'm not aware of plesk supporting this (from the GUI), I had a...

Trigger plesk to run code on domain add/remove

One more ques, being the curious bastard that I am :D There are plenty of other ways to solve this, so it's no biggy whatsoever. Tried setting an environment variable before starting the script, but this appearantly isn't possible (well it isn't working...) EVT=domcreate /path/to/script...

Trigger plesk to run code on domain add/remove

Hey there, been browsing the API a bit. But I only seem to find options to send plesk commands through XML API's. We need it the other way around. We have a second DNS server. This is a very simple server running powerdns. Anyways, all I want is plesk to automatically add/remove the...

    php.ini

Oh, please also note something was screwed up as the php.ini appearantly wasn't parsed. I copied it, removed it all comment lines, and then copied it back to the original location (overwrote /etc/php.ini). I posted this before, I think it also was that phpinfo() gave /etc as configuration...
