• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

mail() in PHP doesn't work with Qmail

Thanks for the re... At the risk of sounding stupid, can anyone explain why ppl keep proposing solutions on something that's already solved? :D Cuz I can't figure it out...

mail() in PHP doesn't work with Qmail

Why would you believe that and why wouldn't it be possible? It works... :) In fact, the qmail sendmail binary is recommended on many forums if you use qmail. Normally /usr/sbin/sendmail should be a symlink to it, but appearantly fedora or plesk (whatever installed qmail) screwed up creating...

    php.ini

Now that you mention it, we did disable it during the install if I remember correctly. Otherwise the install couldn't complete IIRC.

    php.ini

Yea sendmail was a link to mta here too, only mta didn't exist. The problem wasn't only that tho'. Appearantly there was something wrong with the php.ini. In phpinfo() it said the main config file was located in /etc (note it did NOT say /etc/php.ini). I trashed the php.ini and recreated a...

mail() in PHP doesn't work with Qmail

Disabling selinux solved it for me (that is, the interpreter in apache, the php cli still segfaults if i call mail() even with selinux entirely disabled).

mail() in PHP doesn't work with Qmail

Yea anyone? Even worse, php webpages seem to execute. Using the php CLI in interactive mode it will seg fault right after the mail command.

    php.ini

Anyone know where to find the php.ini? I mean... phpinfo(); says: Configuration File (php.ini) Path /etc Scan this dir for additional .ini files /etc/php.d additional .ini files parsed /etc/php.d/dom.ini, /etc/php.d/gd.ini, /etc/php.d/imap.ini, /etc/php.d/ioncube-loader.ini...

    Backup/Secondary MX

Thanks for the re'. I already was afraid Plesk didn't support it. Whilst I might be (easily) able to do this, my collegues aren't familiar with CLI/linux and our customers don't even have access to it (nor would anyone want them to have write access to those files). Besides that, it's...

    Backup/Secondary MX

Hey there, can plesk be used to set it up as a secondary/backup MX? Some of our customers host their own mailserver on their internet connection. We'd like to be backup/secondary MX in case their line is down, so people sending mail won't get delayed messages and such. Doubt it's possible...

    FTP Problems

In order to answer this (was looking back on my own postings) all we had to do was load the FTP iptables helper (usually modprobe ip_conntrack_ftp). Probably would like that setup in the firewall script of your distribution.

How to have vhost run under own user

Hey there, anyone know if it's possible to run vhosts under their own user? Really don't like the access rights now. For a lot of PHP thingies we have to set write access for the world :/ Perhaps something like mpm-itk could do the trick. http://home.samfundet.no/~sesse/mpm-itk

    DNS - SOA contains \'s

Hey there, got a very annoying problem with Plesk. Plesk enters the e-mail address of the customer in the DNS' SOA record. Whilst this is fine, it's not fine that it prefixes any .'s in the mailaddress before the @ with \'s. As far as I know backslashes are NOT allowed in SOA records. Our...

    open_basedir restriction !?!?

I had to setup a vhost.conf. However, note that the PHP values were NOT overriden unless I put them in a directory container like so: <Directory var/www/vhosts/domain/httpdocs> php_admin_value open_basedir = php_admin_flag safe_mode = 0 </Directory> Hope this helps

    open_basedir restriction !?!?

My 'not so educated' guess would be that PHP is fu**ing up the path. With us the log says it's trying to load /include.php (well the filename is actually different but appearantly it tries to locate it in the root (/) which isn't ok ofcourse). If PHP really thinks it should look in that path...

    open_basedir restriction !?!?

No ideas, but have similar problems with the open_basedir. I have a post running as well, just posted it a lil later. Also have one on the mambo forums as I ran into this with mambo.

Plesk / PHP issues / Application Vault

Hey there, we're new to Plesk, so it might just be us, but we're having several annoying problems with plesk. For starters, it looks like the application vault is ****. We tried 2 programs, Mambo and Typo3 both of which have _serious_ issues. Typo3 hardly runs, it gives a lot of errors...

    FTP Problems

Indeed had the same problem (disable passive, which in most clients now-a-days is enabled by default (why-o-why?!)). The problem is probably with the stateful firewall. It knows a standard FTP connection, and knows to open port 20 for data transfer. This isn't the case when you use passive...

    Default skeleton / directory structure

Hey there, I was just wondering, in the skeleton structure I only have 4 folders: httpdocs httpsdocs error_docs cgi-bin Which is fine for us, however, new accounts, when they logon through ftp (and on shell access as well) see much much more, most of which we don't need (nor want)...

    Plesk / Fedora Firewall

Hey there, small ques, the firewall from Plesk doesn't work together with the one from Fedora (Core 4) does it? Currently we have the firewall in plesk installed, but the Fedora firewall is also on. I am only seeing the ports allowed by the fedora firewall at the moment. Ports like 110...
