• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Email Subdomain

More than that, it uses an additional domain license. Having a limited number of domains brings you into real trouble when adding each subdomain as a separate domain!

    Domain configuration question

Why don't you just try? Setup your domain as you like, don't care about the www-prefix and call your domain by that name in a browser. Given, the DNS server responsible for the <mydomain.com> namespace already offers an entry for <shop.mydomain.com> pointing to YOUR IP, you will see your newly...

    Discussion of plesk ui usability

The list of mail aliases is incomplete when a domain alias is setup for that domain. The main mailadress is listed only once (for the main domain) but all aliases are listed seperately for every domain alias. Some example: Domain a-domain.com with an alias b-domain.com. Mailaccount setup as...

    Discussion of plesk ui usability

A little inconvenience: when installing an application, the check for installation requirements is performed after filling the form with admin credentials, database etc. If some requirements are not met or something is missing (like egroupware needs mcrypt which wasn't installed on my ubuntu by...

    Third Party Webmail

You need to setup some domain or subdomain running this webmail service and enter that URL into the field. Registering of additional webmail service does not mean to include some folder from your disk into plesk. Or you might go the way described in mentioned kb-article (which in fact is an...

    Q: replace rsyslog with syslog-ng?

Thanks for that! It's exactly what I was looking for. Obviously I didn't use right search terms.

    Q: replace rsyslog with syslog-ng?

Thanks for that hint. But just as I thought, there seem to be "special" logfiles used by plesk. Is there any list of such files? And is the list in current rsyslog configuration completed? As I can see by now there is only one such file: /opt/psa/var/log/maillog. Is there another place for...

    webmail using https://

I also tried disabling nginx (stopping it via web interface) and webmail worked flawlessly after that. But all other domains were broken! None of the installed domains or subdomains was delivered correctly tio client, all served the default plesk page, grabbed from...

    Q: replace rsyslog with syslog-ng?

I'm totally new to plesk and don't completely understand the system configuration yet but I'm an experienced linux-admin. Looking at system's logfiles in /var/log I see those horribly mixed entries in syslog etc. As rsyslog can't be configured in a way I'm used to, I'd like to replace rsyslog...
