• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    SpamAssissin and 'trained' spam

Hi Iain, this sort of behaviour is possible if you have not unchecked the use system settings in the spam assassin control sub panel for your email user. If this box is checked then the system settings override the users selections. Rgds Simon.

    Outlook 2007 authentication issue

I have experienced this also. The way that I solved it was to turn off the relaying capabilities of the server and then re enable it one at a time. It appears that during the upgrade that this gets broken.

Can you provide more information please, starting with the version of plesk and also the error if any that your outlook users are getting and the settings on the server.

    Outlook 2007 authentication issue

For Apple Mail and others when using Plesk 8.3 smtp authentication will work if you have enabled mail submission and changed the email port in the client to 587. Qmail will then issue the correct AUTH statements in the email welcome.

    Watchdog On-Demand Scanning Problem

I only changed the following line in /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/php.ini auto_globals_jit = Off -> This one was in "On" I then via the GUI, stopped the watchdog and restarted it. Now my rkhunter works ok.

Error migrating RaQ4 to Plesk 8.3

It might be worthwhile trying the import, but I think that it may not make much difference as the problem exists when the dump.xml file is parsed and converted to a plesk format using the template.

    Migrtaion Manager

I have the same problem also with exactly the same entries in the logs, I think that this is a bug caused by the recent upgrade - it would be good to have SWSOFT comment on this.

The logs are located in /var/psa/PMM/var/"date" If you have a look in there you will be able to see the logs.

If you have root access to this virtual server then you can log into it and change ownership and group on the file/directory to match the domain ftp user.

Ability to create and manage SRV records for a DNS zone

Thank you for the suggestion - I have updated the db and the changes have taken and are now persistent :-)

Domain setup - Missing Glue record

The glue record is one that resolves to an ip address the domain name ns1.subdomain.domain.com In your case the missing glue record is the one that resolves ns.mynameserver.co.uk to an ip address. You mentioned that the provider suggested that you have two nameservers on different subnets...

    Loadballancing plesk

Just a thought as I have yet to test this - but it might be possible using DRBD to replicate the storage and configurations at a block level. I was thinking of doing the following: Creating a pair of servers running DRBD and linux heartbeat. Have the data to be replicated stored on the DRBD...

Ability to create and manage SRV records for a DNS zone

This is good news - does this include _domainkeys? (Edited after the response below) Doh! I think that this question qualifies for a Richard Cranium award ;) - Simon

Ability to create and manage SRV records for a DNS zone

Remember BACKUP your files before changing anything. On my RHEL box, you'll need to ssh into the box and then go to: /var/named/run-root/var/ and then edit the zone file of the domain of your choice. If you're running a different distribution, then do a search for the domain and then...

Ability to create and manage SRV records for a DNS zone

I have manually edited the zone file, but plesk will and does overwrite it when changes are made via the gui. What we are requesting is not a lot of work, as most of the code required to do this is there, it just needs to be "tweaked" to allow these types of records to be created (imho).

    Secondary DNS?

I assume that you wish to have the primary as the plesk server and the secondary as another server - in this case, you just need to add a ns record to the domain dns pointing to the secondary name server. On the secondary name server you'll need to allow the zone transfers from your plesk...

Ability to create and manage SRV records for a DNS zone

I would like to see domainkey support in the dns also. For this to happen we need to be able to create hosts with a leading _ (underscore) which is valid. e.g. _domainkey.mydomain.com. 86400 IN TXT "t=y\; o=~\; r=support@mydomain.com"

    Plesk 8.2 Update released

Thanks for pointing out the release notes for the major release - I had forgotten about those :-) However, on this page (patches) http://www.swsoft.com/en/download/plesk/patches/ there is no mention of release notes for 8.2 or patches for 8.2. However, 8.2 has had an update recently (7...

    Plesk 8.2 Update released

It would be beneficial for SWSOFT to issue release notes when releasing a new update/version of the software. At least posting it in Announcements would be ok, but updating the website (download patches) with the release and update information would be nice too. Thanks.
