• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

domain alias directing to wrong domain?

I've setup a domain alias on one domain, but it's being redirected to another domain. I've run websrvmng -a and gracefully restarted apache without success. Any ideas? Thanks!

phpMyAdmin font grew after 8.1 update

Since updating to the most current Plesk (all options), I've noticed that phpMyAdmin's font size is about quadruple what it used to be. Any ideas how to change it back?

    SPF Problem

Just do a whois on the domain in question to find out the nameserver. That's where the changes need to be applied. If the interface doesn't allow you to add TXT records, you will need to submit a support ticket to the company who handles that name server. Typically, they will know exactly...

setting up abuse and postmaster addresses on all domains?

I'd like to setup an abuse and postmaster address for all domains. All the different addresses should forward to the system administrator. I can't find it in group operations. Is there another way to do this quickly, or will I have to manually add the addresses to each domain?

    SPF Problem

if your plesk server is not the name server, you might need to modify the dns records on the name server.

    SPF Problem

odd. Maybe it's because I'm in 8.1 -- which doesn't show the quotes (but I'm sure they're probably there in whatever file plesk is changing). one note. Make sure you're in the domain control panel's DNS settings and not the server's.

    SPF Problem

there are three fields: Record Type : TXT Enter Domain Name : [leave blank] Enter TXT Record : v=spf1 a mx ~all Somewhere I saw quotes around the TXT record's value -- but mine does not include quotes and works fine. DNSstuff seems to like it, too.

did you leave the subdomain blank?

    SPF Problem

I don't think the IP and full domain are required. Mine works fine as such: v=spf1 a mx ~all PS> I set this under the domain's DNS, not the server's.

FYI: ssl cert authority "invalid" after update.

After updating from 8.0.1 to 8.1, Plesk began presenting the correct certificate without the CA certificate. Re-setup of the certificate seems to have repaired the issue.

    emergency preparedness

We had an issue over the weekend where an ISP's router was down for 32 hours. This made our plesk server unreachable for the duration. I was curious to hear opinions on creating a remote fail-safe server with duplicate client information. Like a secondary name server that would point folks to...

Camino and Firefox can't login to plesk -- no errors

this problem seems to be localized on one of my servers. Another plesk hosted on a VPS seems to work fine for either Firefox or Camino (thus the confusion).

Camino and Firefox can't login to plesk -- no errors

I've been using Safari to login to plesk for as long as I can remember. I'm currently in browser transition between Safari and Camino (a Mac specific Mozilla browser). The only problem is plesk just keeps dumping me on the login page. If I login with safari, I can see all the sessions created...

    Okay, what just happened?

23 domains, 256mb. problem is, I'm grandfathered into their $35 plan. The plan with 512mb is $99 a month (ouch).

    Okay, what just happened?

ahh... the messages file had something to say: there were a bunch of those. Maybe I need a ram upgrade?

    Upgrade 7.5.6 to 8.0.1 Safe ?

I waited a bit before updating to 8. I was nervous waiting for the email, but all seems to be fine. The update was smooth, no problems at all.

    Okay, what just happened?

I have occasional trouble with my server where it just stops working. I ssh into it (it can take 10 minutes to login), and "reboot". So, how do I find out what it's doing, or what it was doing before it ground to a hault?

    SSL woes

I have an SSL certificate configured on a server. When I visit the :8443 (plesk port) I get the right certificate, but visiting plain old port 443 still presents the self signed. Here's what I've done so far: 1. had plesk create the CSR. I pasted in the cert and CA. 2. I checked the new...

    Making reverse lookups work

well, this might not be plesk related -- but I don't know where else to post it. I used to get the "possible break-in attempt" error when logging into SSH. Apparently the ISP has fixed this (for the moment) -- but it'll probably be back tomorrow. One thing that's still "broke" is email...
