• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Is this even possible ?

hehe i totally agree that its not obvious - think i only come across it by accident when messing around with the interface :) (personally i go the shell method to get a realtime view with a short script we put together that shows all the folder breakdowns as well if any of our customers...

    Strange open_basedir restriction problem

You can mimick the setting "Use a single directory for housing SSL and non-SSL content" easy enough. cd /path/to/DOMAIN mv httpsdocs httpsdocs.old ln -s httpdocs httpsdocs chown -h USERNAME:psaserv httpsdocs Try that with your normal setup - personally i would not recommend...

mysql and svn command usage from SSH chrooted environment?

Did you not read my previous post? The use of the -h switch along with unlocking the allowed access to the dbase username. You are then accessing the dbase over a tcp/ip connection rather than through the unix mysql.sock

mchk still has error after first big fix

Personally never had a shared server where the "max" is enough :) But i guess it depends how many people you have active on the server. (wonder why they decided to add a max_connections variable to mysql if it wasnt too be used) :)

mchk still has error after first big fix

This is easily fixed by increasing the max connections for mysql. Edit /etc/my.cnf and ensure you have a line like this - set XXXX accordingly. [mysqld] set-variable=max_connections=XXXX Then restart mysql

    Problems with traffic display

i am not sure exactly what screen you are on to get them figures. the screen to look at to see where the bandwidth is from is : Login to the admin area goto the domain in question Click report icon click traffic this will then show you a http/pop3/ftp etc breakdown of where the usage...

    Problems with traffic display

webalizer only counts the bandwidth for certain file types. Ie it ignores all graphic files - if you have large graphic files these could easily be using the additional bandwidth thats not showing in webalizer. Install a copy of awstats and configure it to show all filetypes if you want to...

mysql and svn command usage from SSH chrooted environment?

    Im using BSD so maybe a little different but the files you need are simply: # ldd /usr/local/psa/mysql/bin/mysql /usr/local/psa/mysql/bin/mysql: libncurses.so.5 => /usr/lib/libncurses.so.5 (0x28099000) libcrypt.so.2 => /usr/lib/libcrypt.so.2 (0x280da000)...

Install Ruby on Rails on Plesk?

tyler : i tried to post directly on your site but i dont think it worked. In reference to part 2 of your guide, Desnt step 3 however give the user pretty much unlimited diskspace as plesk itself only checks key directories for space usage. `rails` would not be considered one of these...

    Changing Default FTP directory permissions?

If you dont mind putting your ftp user/pass into a script you can create a directory via sockets in php (or i guess you could use the ftp functions if you have the compiled in) <?php $ftp_host="YOURDOMAIN.EXT"; $ftp_user="FTPUSERNAME"; $ftp_pass="FTPPASSWORD"...

    Connect to MySQL

You will need to open the database to external connections. You can do this via mysql as root login to mysql and run use mysql; UPDATE db SET Host='%' WHERE Db="YOURDBNAME"; UPDATE user SET Host='%' WHERE User="YOURUSER"; FLUSH PRIVILEGES This will then open your server to...

Logout after each half dozen click .... ?

Hes not referring to your server, more the actual computer you are trying to connect to your server through. An easy check is to visit in your browser http://whatismyip.com/ Do a full refresh (ctrl F5) a few times, if your IP changes then this is more than likely the reason you are...

    Cron on server restart?

Doubt it will work via plesk admin but you can do it easily with normal crontab just use (at least on freebsd) @reboot /command (this is liable to break the plesk crontab editor - personally never use it for root based stuff)

    Changing Default FTP directory permissions?

Untried!!! but in /usr/local/psa/ftpd/etc/proftpd.conf (may differ on other platforms) You can see <Directory /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts> GroupOwner psacln </Directory> Maybe if you added your own directory tags to your own specific directories you could set the...
