• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    502 bad gateway using Nginx

OK I have found the source of the problem. at 5.30 this morning I see that fail2ban has added a jail 'plesk-apache-badbot' and banned access from itself! I have added the localhost IP address to the fail2ban whitelist and will watch to see if this fixes the problem. Thanks to Thomas Becker...

    502 bad gateway using Nginx

clarification: I realise that the problem referred to in http://kb.odin.com/en/118757 mentioned above is relating to when accessing the control panel produces this error - this is not the case here - the control panel continues to work fine, it is all over vhosts sites that don't (so presumably...

    502 bad gateway using Nginx

...after making the changes on Friday to /etc/sw-cp-server/config I only restarted nginx & apache. Looking elsewhere (http://kb.odin.com/en/118757) the suggestion is to perform: # /etc/init.d/sw-cp-server restart # /etc/init.d/sw-engine restart ...after making the changes, which I hadn't done...

Thanks I added this to /etc/sw-cp-server/config where the current settings were and restarted nginx - any other services I need to restart? Hopefully the problem will not recur.

    502 bad gateway using Nginx

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me understand this... Today at 12.50 pm my (ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS) server running plesk 12.0.18 suddenly stopped serving websites. Any attempts to access a webpage on any vhost returned the 502 bad gateway using Nginx error messsage. When I looked at the nginx...

    switch off ftp server-wide?

Thanks Igor, This is how I did it on Plesk 10. As has been pointed out elsewhere on this forum, the text of this file states: #DO NOT MODIFY THIS FILE BECAUSE IT WAS GENERATED AUTOMATICALLY, #SO ALL YOUR CHANGES WILL BE LOST AFTER YOU UPGRADE PARALLELS PLESK PANEL. ... so I assume that this is...

    switch off ftp server-wide?

Hi, Just in the process of uggrading to new box Plesk 12 (Ubuntu 14.04LTS). ON the previous (plesk 10) I was able to disable ftp services by editing /etc/xinetd.d/ftp_psa - this doesn't seem to be an option now. Can you tell me how to do this on plesk 12? Many Thanks

    Plesk Panel on Debian 7?

Hi, I understand from another post that Plesk is not yet supported on Debian 7. Can anyone give any indication of when it might be? My hosting company seem to have no idea and I am hanging on before setting up a new server to migrate to, so I can use Debian 7 and save myself having to upgrade...

Debian Lenny (5) upgrade to Squeeze (6)? PHP5.2 to 5.3

Still stuck Hi, I was put off attempting the upgrade in situ after your last post implying that I need to lease another server and migrate everything in order to do this. This was a 2 month job last time I did it 18 months ago and I would infinitely rather attempt an upgrade. It would be...

After Dist Upgrade Squeeze - Plesk changes sources.list

Still stuck... Hi I still haven't bit the bullet on this, as I don't want to risk trashing the production server during upgrade. But it is now becoming urgent as obviously lenny repositories are all long gone. After asking parallels support, I am told that an upgrade in situ is not possible...

After Dist Upgrade Squeeze - Plesk changes sources.list

Hah - I am a bit clearer now. According to Plesk the Plesk 10.4.4 is a different version for Debian 5 than the version for Debian 6. They say I need to upgrade Debian then do a clean install of either 10.4.4 (for Squeeze) or 11 (only available for squeeze)... Does this tally with our...

After Dist Upgrade Squeeze - Plesk changes sources.list

Hi Powie, I am in the same position as you were (of having to upgrade to squeeze because of PHP), and as this is a busy production server, I am concerned to get it right. The Plesk support people say I need to upgrade Debian and then perform a fresh install of Plesk 11, and then migrate the...
