• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

DNS Report: FAIL: Open DNS servers

RHEL 3, PLESK 7.5 reloaded /etc/resolv.conf [which I haven't touched', nor have I edited named.conf, I just wanted to see if the stuff posted here was the answer before I did anything] is: nameserver=<myhostsns1> nameserver=<myhostsns2> #nameserver=<mylocaldomainns1>...

DNS Report: FAIL: Open DNS servers

I have this issue too. Did anybody ever work out what to do? I have one domain on my server being the authoratative name server for other domains on my server. Nothing more complex than that.

How do I add (and keep) my own entries in httpd.conf

Thanks. By asking at other forums too, I was given this excellent link. http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk7.5/Doc/plesk-7.5r-admins-guide-html/apas02.html It answers my question perfectly. Even describes the problem I was having perfectly too. I normally pride myself on RTBM. But must...

How do I add (and keep) my own entries in httpd.conf

When I create domains, PLESK is creating an httpd.conf file per domain which is fair enough. Subdomains are added to the same file, also fair enough. But if I edit the httpd.conf file in SSH, then add another subdomain, in PLESK, my edits are lost. Other things like disabling then re-enabling...

    DNS/Nameserver black arts

I've got this fixed now. For the record, I had a step missing. I needed to ask my registrar to add the custom name servers to my domain at their registry. The hostname is a red herring, but it does generate a few warnings at www.dnsreport.com

    DNS/Nameserver black arts

Thank you. FYI when they (ev1) set up a server up for you, as soon as you start up PLESK for the first time, you are asked to choose a hostname. The default is PLESK.ev1servers.net. As there will be lots of domains on the server, it's difficult to know which domain should be part of the...

    DNS/Nameserver black arts

Thank you. Now I am starting to get confused again. The hostname does not have .domain1.com in it. With many PLESK clients and domains eventually going to be on the server, does it *have* to have domain1.com in it? At the moment it's of the form foo.ev1servers.net The domain11...

    DNS/Nameserver black arts

Thank you thank you thank you. Nothing could have explained it more clearly. However ..... IP1 came with the server. IP2, 3 & 4 were requested by me for these domains and name servers. Do I *have* to use IP1 that came with the server for my domain1? It's the one I'm forced to use for PLESK...

    DNS/Nameserver black arts

I've read the manuals, I've watched the flash movies, I've looked at the howtos, I've looked at others questions but still I am completely confused. So let me say what I'd like to do, and hopefully somebody can tell me exactly how. Currently I have 4 domains all running on the same IP (in...

    move_uploaded_file(): open_basedir restriction(NOT newbie problem)

You've probably checked these, but: have you run a phpinfo(); to make sure that these open_basedir restrictions are actually being used. Is the /tmp folder readable/writeable by PHP? Hope you figure this out soon, because it sounds as though I might bump into it real soon. :(

    TYPO3 Installation – Trouble with open_basedir...

Ok well the local open_basedir restriction is being set up in /var/www/vhosts/[domainName]/conf/httpd.include At the top of that file is this comment: # ATTENTION! # DO NOT MODIFY THIS FILE OR ANY PART OF IT. THIS CAN RESULT IN IMPROPER PLESK # FUNCTIONING OR FAILURE, CAUSE DAMAGE AND...
