• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Logwatch for Plesk 10.4, Centos 5 - patches/how-to!

Hi, I just installed a new server with Plesk 10.4 and Centos 5. I see that stock logwatch is largery incompatible with the Plesk 10.4/Postfix installation with a lot of log lines "unmatched". So I will create my customized logwatch with proper regex for Plesk 10.4/Postfix installation. I...

    SELinux horror

My sincere apologies for the attitude, it has been too long days for too long, without going to the details (Plesk being one of them). It's no excuse really. Next time I'll check my medicine before posting, ok? Point was that many people just copy-paste the commands without understanding the...

    SELinux horror

For reference to everyone else, do not do this under any, and I mean ANY circumstances. This would allow each and every policy violation in the log to be permitted! Be it from Plesk or from malicious user!! [edited out some unnecessary attitude problems]

    SELinux horror

I know very well how to make full custom SELinux policies/modules, not to mention audit2allow. My problem is that Plesk does not do this out of box. It should. Definitely. Don't you agree??

    10.4 - Subdomains go to /var/www/vhosts

Why would anyone want to have all subdomains go to /var/www/sub.example.com/ ? What is the purpose? There is already /var/www/example.com/subdomains/sub/ directory? All I see is unnecessary clutter.

    SELinux horror

Well, well.. Here we are, at version "10.4.4" and still Plesk cannot play nicely with SELinux. Oh come on Parallels.. Upgrade from 10.3.x to 10.4.4: type=AVC msg=audit(1327633857.275:37059): avc: denied { append } for pid=28059 comm="httpd" path="/usr/local/psa/tmp/rc_actions.log"...

Subdomain with FastCGI:PHP sessions not work-chmod 777 /var/lib/php/session not help

Thanks, edited to correct it, I really hope it is useful for other people. Now, I have had another problem with SELinux labels on subdomains for a long time requiring manual fixing with chcon after every time subdomain is created.. Perhaps with your encouragement I will make a post about that.

    yum update php/xmlrpc-c fails (RHEL6.1,PSA10.3.1)

I cannot update PHP nor xmlrpc-c on either of my RHEL 6.1 x64 boxes, both running latest Plesk with all MUs. PHP update seems to clearly be some conflict because of Plesk (see the repository @PSA_10_2_0-thirdparty), xmlrpc-c I have no idea but I guess it is related to Plesk also. Any ideas...

    Creating subdomains into plesk 10.2

OK, I apologize for wasting your time. I used the "Plesk 9" way and tried to create a "web user" instead of the "Additional FTP accounts". Thank you for pointing to right direction. I concur the new subdomain functionality is just fine then, a few more clicks but we can live with that...

    Creating subdomains into plesk 10.2

For me the biggest problem is separate subdomain FTP account. Yes, we can create "web user"s. But we cannot set the FTP chroot (home dir of the user) by web interface! Now with Plesk 10 this means that the droids handling requests from clueless clients or dev team CAN make a subdomain, CAN...

    Creating subdomains into plesk 10.2

Bump This new Plesk 10 way for subdomains is absolutely HORRIBLE. Shame on you, Parallels, again, screwing us with your "business logic". Seems you have no idea how we hosters work.

Bug: Migrate site from 9.x to 10.x, subdomains can't use PHP session with FastCGI

Subdomain with FastCGI:PHP sessions not work-chmod 777 /var/lib/php/session not help

Solved OK, I did some digging and the culprit was in fact SELinux. In case anyone else hits this problem: To make it work, first fix permissions on the directory and then relabel it: Seems working after this, there are still some avc messages at audit.log but they seem related to site...

Subdomain with FastCGI:PHP sessions not work-chmod 777 /var/lib/php/session not help

Bug: Migrate site from 9.x to 10.x, subdomains can't use PHP session with FastCGI

I had a server running the latest 9.x series Plesk. I migrated a site with several (20) subdomains to latest Plesk 10.x with FastCGI turned on. All subdomains cannot use PHP sessions. It seems to be some kind of bug concerning only the migrated subdomains. If I create a simple test file...

Mailbox "status icons" (forward/autoreply/..) gone in Plesk 10?

I completely agree with those who say that Plesk 10 has simplified the admin interface way too much. I won't start about the easy shortcuts that older Plesk versions had to quickly switch to settings of another mailbox in the same domain for example, and other loss of functionality that now...

    Goodbye Plesk

Were you here few years ago? I would say things are definitely going to better direction. I was about to ditch Plesk completely as well, but to me it seems Parallels is starting to realize something. I do not see anymore dozens of threads where people are crying and yelling how bad Plesk is.
