• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Bug: Redirectaddress user.@domain.tld not accepted

Hi! Plesk does not accept a valid email-adress in the format <name><dot>@<domain>.<tld> (like user3.@test.com) as valid redirect address. Adding it manually with mailmng and its options, the database used by Plesk is NOT updated. When moving whole domains from unsupported types...

Plesk Admin Panel - server-wide settings empty

Problem solved After contacting the rootserver support, they found the reason for the empty server wide settings... /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/backup/ had wrong permission (although I do not understand why this has such a huge impact). Once again, the updater mixed up some...

Plesk Admin Panel - server-wide settings empty

After upgrading to Plesk 8.0.0 (Suse 9.3) everything works so far except the page to set up the server-wide settings in the admin panel. When accessing the link in the left menu, the right part of the window is cleared and nothing happens. Elements of the server-wide settings which are...

    Mailinglist not sending

Check the file owners of the .qmail-* files in /var/qmail/mailnames/<domainname>/ I have the reproduceable problem (Plesk 7.5.4, Suse 9.3) that after creating a mailing list using the Plesk control interface, these files controlling the behaviour of qmail and integrating mailman belong to...

[Issue with DNS Server (BIND) after having added a new IP]

Log into the server (via SSH). cd /etc ls -l named.conf the result will be something like @named.conf -> /var/lib/named/etc/named.conf There you see the real path Switch to that dir cd /var/lib/named/etc ls -l named.conf then you see the permissions. They should be...

[Issue with DNS Server (BIND) after having added a new IP]

Well, do not only check the permissions of the symlink, go to the directory as stated in the symlink and check the permissions of the file there. Bye, Andreas

[Issue with DNS Server (BIND) after having added a new IP]

That depens where the symlink of your named.conf in /etc points to. If you can open the symlink and view its content, then the file is anywhere. If you do not use Suse 9.3, your named might be anywhere else. Check the target of the symlink. Bye, Andreas

[Issue with DNS Server (BIND) after having added a new IP]

My named.conf is also in /etc, but the file is not really there, but is symlinked to /var/lib/named/etc (try an ls -l on the directory to see the symlink). It might be the same for your system. Bye, Andreas

    Mail configuration problem

Have a look at /var/log/xinetd.log for the duration of the smtp connections. I had to disable the reverse ip lookup (see another thread here in the forums) to solve this. Perhaps it helps, Andreas

[Issue with DNS Server (BIND) after having added a new IP]

Hi! I have/had a similiar problem with named/bind (Plesk 7.5.4, Suse 9.3). Please check whether the named service is running. /etc/init.d/named restart If this fails, check the warn logfile under /var/log for the reason. I got a "loading configuration: permission denied". This...

Protected directories - Apache tries to read wrong .htaccess

Hi! On a quite new server (Suse 9.3, Plesk 7.5.4) I have a problem with protected directories. All hints from other threads did not show a solution. The directory is protected using the Plesk interface. Plesk stores the user credentials in a special file under /pd of the domain...

    courier-imap: Empty body on thunderbird

Later.... For all those converting from XMail to qmail under PLESK, here the solution for the problems occured: XMail is using CRLF instead of LF to terminate single lines of a message. This is already a problem when trying to combine XMail and courier-imap. The messages copied from the...

    courier-imap: Empty body on thunderbird

Hi! I am running a root-server with Plesk 7.5.4 on Suse 9.3. I am using the default installation with clamav added to the qmail queue. For _some_ accounts, I have a problem which I cannot yet solve. After copying the messages from the previous server (running XMail) into the new...
