• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Can Someone help me understand the Basics of Plesk

Plesk is a control panel to manage a server and the sites on it. It's free if you only use it for one site, but it's meant for a shared hosting setup (not free). The admin creates several clients (persons with a separate login to manage their sites) and a client can have multiple domains...

    Upgrading 8.1.1 to 8.2.0 - Catastrophic failure

I just got the same problem on my test server. The 8.1.1 upgrade went fine (after some problems with their update servers being down), but now it just trashes Plesk completely and it won't start any more (also not after a reboot). I also didn't receive any update process mails before it went...

Upgrade to Plesk 8.1.1 killed Plesk totally

Have you tried already to restart Plesk (using SSH)? /etc/init.d/psa restart Most of the time this solves those kind of issues. Plesk hasn't got that many to do with the sites on your server. Ofcourse it's the control panel, but they can keep running without it.

Plesk 8.0.1 to 8.1.1 Updater Problem

Mostly that's because there's an automatic update check option that notifies you with a message on the desktop when there's a new version. I think that's causing it, with a normal user side login it works faster.

    Default MySQL root password

Normally the root user is called "admin" (and not "root") if you use Plesk. The password is your Plesk admin password.
