• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Backup Manager

    Thanks. Most of that is over my head, so I've passed it to a friend. The increase in domain HD usage is, apparantly, a known issue which SWSoft are going to log in to fix. Thanks.

    Backup Manager

    I've been reading through various posts about the backup manager as I've got this running as a scheduled back-up for a selection of domains, on to a local FTP server. Does anyone know whether the backup file created is a FULL backup of everything (including domain config and settings AND...

    Migration Manager freezing up

    Again, yes. I had 60 sites to transfer. Each time I tried by bulk I found it wouldn't work, so I moved to doing it one site at a time. That lead me to discover that it was usually something about the config of a specific site, as set up on the source server, that it wouldn't like (eg if it had...

    Migration Manager freezing up

    Hi Luke, Thanks for the reply and suggestions. I left it running overnight! I mean it really DOES freeze up. The server admin did what you described yesterday, when we first tried it, and immediately concluded that the task had frozen. It keeps happening. As for moving by hand: some...

    Migration Manager freezing up

    Hi there, I've been having trouble for 12 hours now and am starting to lose my cool! I succesfully migrated several domains from a RHE3 7.5.4 to a RHE3 8.0.1 box, last week. This week I've been trying to migrate many more domains, from a 7.5.4 Fedora Core box. Some domains migrate OK...

    Why Plesk favicon on hosted sites?

    Thanks. That is ridiculous. I don't think that's the correct path though. In /var/www/vhosts there is no .skel, just a list of domains, default and chroot. Can you advise me further? Thanks.

    Why Plesk favicon on hosted sites?

    Thanks for the reply. I've never come across a browser error which would bizarely conjure up the Plesk favicon - but only for sites hosted on a specific Plesk server - and I have never seen this until I started migrating these domains on to the new server. The odds of such being mere...

    Why Plesk favicon on hosted sites?

    Just migrating sites across from a 7.5.4 server to 8.0.1 and, oddly, when I view these sites on the new server, the Plesk favicon appears for all websites. I'm sure this is just a mistake as who would put up with having someone else's branding forcibly inserted on their websites? So my...

    Bugs after migrating domains

    Yup that worked perfectly - thanks. Again, spot on - they were set up under clients but it didn't occur to me that, if created for all domains under a client, they wouldn't then show up under the domains for the client, as well as under the client account. Thanks!

    Bugs after migrating domains

    Having just used Migration Manager to move some clients and domains from a 7.5.4 box to an 8.0.1 install, I've noted two odd problems. The first problem might not be uniquely mine as I can see references to similar (but not identical) bugs in other posts: all the imported domains report ZERO...

    Migration Manager 7.5.4->8.0.1

    Thanks for your help - all's working now. FYI setting the permissions as advised on the old server fixed part of the problem. The other part was in my description of how I was logging in - namely, "I log in as "admin" with password set correctly and set Sudo password to that of root." This...

    Migration Manager 7.5.4->8.0.1

    The new server (to which I wish to migrate) allows SSH from the old server. The old server (from which I wish to migrate) allows SSH from any address for the moment. Thanks, I'll try this and let you know!

    Migration Manager 7.5.4->8.0.1

    Hi folks, I'm trying Migration Manager for the first time and am not having much joy. I've read most of the threads on here and have also studied the Plesk manual. I log in as "admin" with password set correctly and set Sudo password to that of root. I leave "Data import" unchecked (no...

    Can anyone help with this?

    Firewall options in 7.0.x vs 7.5.x

    Answering my own question, I gather there is an editable javascript file which enables such changes. Thanks.

    Firewall options in 7.0.x vs 7.5.x

    Couldn't find this in the change list and was wondering: Does the newer Plesk 7.5.1 include the superior Firewall options that are available in the *nix version? In the latter I can select ports one by one and configure. In the Windows version there are only three default options (off, on...

    Auto Upgrader to 7.5?

    Same question here. I visit Plesk Updates and am informed that there are no items. I understand that auto-update isn't usually released at the same time, but it's been a while now. Any news at all? Cheers.

    Webmail unavailable since 7.1.4 to 7.5.1 upgrade

    Understood. Just to clarify, in case anyone else reading this has the same problem, we found that upgrading Ioncube specifically (we don't run Zend) resolved the issue. I mixed the php & Plesk upgrades together in my mind, because they were done at the same time. Thanks Master Ruthless!
