    Apache DoS Attack Solution

Thanks A.R.T.!! Do you know what Plesk is doing with all this httpsd.conf stuff? I'd like to understand this a little better just to make sure I didn't break anything with the apxs and to help others that need to do this. Greg

    Apache DoS Attack Solution

Hi There, Our site hosts a large number of .mp3 files. We're having problems with download software that generates a large number of requests (up to the maximum allowed on our box -- now 256) all from the same ip address. This frustrates other users that can't access the site for hours at a...

    DNS Zone Serial #'s

I'm setting up the zones on my box as masters and asking my ISP to setup slaves for the zone. The ISP uses the date format for the serial numbers. Plesk is using some number that is numerically less than the current date. This implies that the slave zones will never be updated as their serial...

    Mailman Install Problem

Hi There, I installed Mailman from the Plesk 8.0.1 control panel and was able to access the web GUI for mailman. I created the list testing@dom.ain which seemed to go OK. I added one email address to the testing list and logged out of the GUI. I sent an email to testing@dom.ain and...

mp3 transfer -- apache log analysis

Thanks for the reply feris! I believe your scenario is likely correct -- this user has limited resources for some reson (modem connection, limited RAM, ...) and is downloaded in small blocks. It doesn't seem correct that this one slow uses should be able to run on 10-20 apache processes...

    relaylock in Qmail Logs

Hi All, I'm looking at the Qmail logs and seeing a number of relaylock entries. Here is a typical entry: relaylock: /var/qmail/bin/relaylock: mail from 70.84.160.108:64892 (6c.a0.5446.static.theplanet.com) I searched the internet and qmail.org for "relaylock" and found nothing. What...

mp3 transfer -- apache log analysis

We have been having some server HTTP alerts from our monitoring system. I did some research in the apache access_logs and see a behavior that I don't understand. I pulled some data this morning in hopes that you could help me understand what is happening here and how to potentially correct it...
