• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    webmail secured?

Thank you Igor. My current hosting company doesn't provide subdomains, so I can't see what happens when I go to webmail.mydomain.com. When I go to webmail.mydomain.com do I see the Plesk login page, or the Roundcube login page? Is it a problem (as in a security issue) that webmail uses http...

    webmail secured?

I noticed Plesk uses an unsecured connection for webmail: webmail.mydomain.com Can this connection be secured or is that not possible? (Isn't this a security risk?)

    customers, domains, subscriptions, service plans

Thanks Sergey. If I understand correctly ... a domain name is always a part of a subscription and can not stand on its own?

Thank you Sergey. Then I will have to rely on the SNI technology. For now it is good to know it is possible.

    customers, domains, subscriptions, service plans

Hi guys, Can someone explain (in short) what the relations are between customers, domains, subscriptions and service plans? As I understand a service plan is a "package" with predefined settings. Now what I would like to know is how a customer and a subscription are "connected". Does each...

    SSL certificates

Hello, I run a VPS with Plesk 12. Can I set SSL certificates for all the domains on this VPS? I don't need to know how to do it (yet). I'm just wondering if it is possible. (I have 2 IP addresses to my VPS. I was told the second one was for SSL, but I'm not sure if I need it?)

    Webmail without subdomain?

In addition: I have tried to login to my webmail, but it seems all the shortcuts within Plesk refer to webmail.mydomain.com. So now there is no way to access my webmail, or am I missing another option? Right now if I click on the email icon which should open my mailbox, it shows a "not found"...

    Webmail without subdomain?

Thanks, but please do understand I'm not as experienced as you are. I came here hoping to find some help. I already Googled a lot without any result. And it's difficult to search for something if you don't know what the possibilities are. You're talking about domain.com/webmail. Is this a...

    webmail, need some advice

Hello, I already asked a similar question yesterday. A lot of views but no response, so I think I wasn't very clear. I'm going to try it again. Recently I started hosting a VPS and some domains. On the VPS, Plesk 12 in pre-installed. I used an A-record to link the domains to the VPS. This all...

    Webmail without subdomain?

Hi guys, I'm planning on hosting some websites for customers. I am using Plesk 12. So far so good. Now here's the problem. For some reason my host by default doesn't offer subdomains (unless I buy a more expensive package). Will this cause any problems? For example webmail.mydomain.com won't...

    service-plan is template?

That's the one I'm reading... but I thought I read somewhere that when you change a service plan afterwards, the corresponding domains won't change... that is actually why I asked this question.

    service-plan is template?

Allright... but if my service plan says that a domain has 5 mailboxes, and I change it to 4.... then what happens to the mailboxes of the corresponding subscriptions?

    non-www version recommended... why?

    service-plan is template?

Hi, I read somewhere that I can create a domain based on a service plan. If I'm not mistaking I also read that if I change a service plan, websites based on this service plan will not change along. So is it fair to say that a service plan is an initial "template" on which a domain is...

    use of add-on domain

Hello, Let's say I create a new domain/webspace www.first.com, then in this same webspace I can create a second domain www.second.com. I was wondering what the exact purpose of this construction is. Is it meant to 1) "bundle" all websites from 1 person/company into the same webspace? Or 2)...

I read this in the Plesk manual: Why does Plesk recommend the non-www version?

what do you think about Plesk 12?

Thanks for your replies. UFHH01. A question is never nonsens, only its answer can be ;) Thanks for explaining. Good to see that you are very happy with Plesk. I read some things on the forum that made me worry a bit, so that is why I asked this question. You said there is a "very pleasant and...
