  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Plesk Firewall - SE Linux, firewalld, iptables

Ok thanks mr-wolf. I am using a firewall appliance that sits in front of the server plus SELinux which I think is sufficient. The built in Security Advisor recommends installing Plesk Firewall but iptables is old school. It would be nice if they modified the Plesk add-on to use firewalld and/or...

Resolved Plesk Firewall - SE Linux, firewalld, iptables

Thanks for your reply mr-wolf. Do you use SELinux or just iptables? I find it strange that Pleks Firewall shows up under "Extensions" after installed, although like you say it is a "Component" under the additional install features of Plesk.

Resolved Plesk Firewall - SE Linux, firewalld, iptables

Hello, I am wondering if anyone can confirm how the extension Plesk Firewall extension works? I.E is Plesk Firewall using SE Linux, firewalld or old school iptables? If I remove Plesk Firewall what does this do to the system? Does anyone know why Plesk Firewall doesn't show up on the Plesk...

    Plesk 12.5.30-MU23 — nginx down

Hi trialotto, Some of the sites which I host require FPM. I will have to do some more research on the clients using FPM. I've made changes to one of the sites I host as per your suggestion so I will see what happens. Thank you,

Plesk 12.5.30 - update error message

Hi trialotto, I already have all of those settings defined aside from the "Automatic install" as I have in the past seen a bug or two which causes issues with production websites.

Plesk 12.5.30 - update error message

Hi tialotto, I appreciate the quick reply! I am familiar with the PS command, perhaps I should have shown the output earlier. The method via script is new to me and I am not yet familiar with the PHP script (it seems straight forward) but I like the older cronjob method (a little old school)...

Plesk 12.5.30 - update error message

UPDATE Plesk displayed this when attempting to update: There are no other update processes running so I am very confused by this message. I was able to successfully update manually from "Tools & Settings" --> "Updates & Upgrades."

Plesk 12.5.30 - update error message

Hi Igor, I just manually ran the following: The command dumped the following: Based on the above I see two issues: 1) ftp_user creds for domain.com 2) WordPress admin creds I believe I can resolve number one but need to better understand the actual error message. The second issue I believe...

Plesk 12.5.30 - update error message

Hi IgorG, Update #24 was released and my server detected the new version as it should (so daily cron is working). Upon updating I received a message "Plesk failed to update click here to close this message." It appears that everything updated except for "PostgreSQL server." I confirmed this by...

    Plesk 12.5.30-MU23 — nginx down

If I've got some time this week or weekend I will turn nginx back on and monitor it. During he work week I don't like turning it on and then hearing from my clients that their website has a "502 Bad Gateway Error."

    Plesk 12.5.30-MU23 — nginx down

I turned nginx off because I was always receive"Gateway 502 errors." I find it hard to believe that it would be a NIC issue as it is completely random. It almost seems more like a memory issue but I have more than enough memory. Troubleshooting the issue has not been fun.

Plesk 12.5.30 - update error message

Hi IgorG, No major issues. I am now waiting for the next update to occur before stating that the issue is resolved. Do you know how Plesk checks for updates, an automated cronjob via crontab? I found this: Using Micro-Updates in Plesk and Small Business Panel (http://kb.odin.com/en/9294) but...
