  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

7.5.4 upgrade question

Can anyone tell me if Apache is shut down during the upgrade from 7.5.3 to 7.5.4?

I have upgraded a couple of servers already but forgot to check if it stopped httpd during the upgrade... ideally it wouldn't stop httpd but I can't remember if it did.

Thanks for any input anyone has.

Best Regards,

- Chris

I believe it does shutdown all services which would be updated/upgraded, including Apache, mySQL, etc.

You can check the updater log in /tmp (it's usually pretty long).

Ideally on minor updates there should be little or no interruption of service. I don't consider 7.5.4 to be a minor update/upgrade. Lots of pretty hefty changes for a minor version number.... (just my opinion)

It does stop anything it needs to upgrade, including apache. Upgrading 7.5.3 to 7.5.4 on our FreeBSD only means 10 minutes downtime.
