  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

8 Gb FTP backup recovering failed

jose miguelg

Basic Pleskian
Hi.
I'm trying to recover a 8 Gb backup via Ftp as you can see in the attach 2.png.
Ftp begins recovering correctly and after 1,5 or 2 Gb aprox, PLEX shows a message like attach 1.png.
I translate the message: "Operation is taking too long..."
After error message, we can see Ftp working till the end but after that there is nothing restored.

Any solution?

Best regards.

I would recommend you to download the backup to the local storage and restore it from there.
Often the timeout is due to the FTP transfer of the backup file as this runs inline. The restore itself is run as a background job.
Large files do tend to fail from my expirence. You could try to set the PHP timeout values for Plesk and see if that solved your issue.
If it dosn't you can use the CLI instead to get around the timeout in the webinterface.
