• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

9.2.1 Backup Manager Settings

Hello All -

I'm running a 9.2.1 installation on a Linux box with multiple HDDs installed. I have one HDD that is intended for just backups. I am wanting to backup the entire server configuration, settings, domain files, etc (read: everything).

Some facts:

Disk 1 (Array) = /sdb
Disk 2 (Array) = /sdb
Disk 3 (Array) = /sdb
Disk 4 (Array) = /sdb
Disk 5 = /sda
Disk 6 = /storage

Here are my questions:

1. Can the backup manager in the admin control panel be set to use a working directory where it writes the backup file to /storage instead of /sdb?

2. Can the backup manager in the admin control be set to store backup files to /storage instead of /sdb?

3. Is there a good way to handle entire backups within Plesk or it recommended to use other software?

I'm looking for some good sound advice from folks that have had luck backing up to a storage device and most importantly restoring from that backup. What are the pros doing sort of thing and what's the best solution for this.

Thanks for the input.

I have updated my crontab to 9.* standards and it is no longer complaining but changing the temp directory plesk writes the temp file in I can't find an answer to.

/usr/local/psa/bin/pleskbackup --server --output-file=/storage/
