• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

TITLE:
"Adding Your Own Subscription" field "Username" allows unlimited length
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE:
Onyx 17.8 MU #50
CentOS 7.6
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The "username" of a subscription, aka "Web Hosting Access" user name and "FTP Access" user name is normally limited to 16 characters. The limit correctly applies by a JavaScript "onkeypress" (or similar) event when editing user names in the "FTP Access" or "Web Hosting Access" pages. It used to apply, too, when creating a new subscription.

Now however, probably since MU #50, when creating a new subscription, the user name can be infinitely long. A user is actually created, the name stored with a longer lenth in the Plesk database. When one tries to edit the name later, it can only be shortened, because in the normal "Web Hosting Access" and "FTP Access" dialogs user names still can only be 16 characters long.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Create a subscription.
Type in any user name of any length desired.
ACTUAL RESULT:
It is possible to type in very long user names and these are actually processed.
EXPECTED RESULT:
The field should limit entries to 16 characters as it did before during the past years of the GUI.
ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
YOUR EXPECTATIONS FROM PLESK SERVICE TEAM:
Confirm bug
