• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Application pack

Hi, the application pack seems to somewhat outdated. For example, Joomla is now in version 1.5, compared to 1.0 that's available in app pack. Wordpress is 2.5.1 compared to 2.2.3.

Any chance these updates will be released soon?

Hope is a thing made out of feathers. How about Parallels fixes it now to gaine some customer loyalty? Besides there is a reason why the applications are updated on regular bases, so providing something that may be outdated seems... sort of... meh... and uhhh...

Huh? What kind of reply is that?

Gentlemen,

We have no plans to deliver updated Application Pack soon.

It is recommended to use http://apsstandard.com/app

I am a lease customer. The reason I subscribe to application pack coz I expected it has the updated application pack. And since it is for windows, it should also include asp.net application pack. Not sure what Parallels is doing, perhaps the price and description of the application pack should be changed.

I was informed by your customer service that the new version of application pack is not YET released. Now I know it will not be released. What a bummer. Does not seem to be a fair trade to consumer customers.

sergius, so why is Parallels charging up $24.00 per license per month for the app pack then? If we can get the apps from appstandard.com/app, then we shouldn't be paying a monthly license fee for a Plesk add-on that seems to be nothing but a framework...

You really need to clarify your company's standing on this issue or you're just going to have a lot of upset customers. Needless to say, this not how software shop should be practicing business!

You are paying for the APS support in Plesk, technically you can build any package you want with APS and add it to the repository.

Keeping the applications updated is a time consuming process :)

Sure, how about paying only once for the license add-on and I'll play myself to keep the script up-to-date when they become available. It doesn't make sense to pay them $24 per month per server, then have to spend time updating the paks myself, does it?

The app vault should allow you to update to the latest versions as part of an autoupdater process instead - when you go there it lists the appvault as a seperate product like it lists Plesk there - you can then click ont he app vault and retrieve the lastest package versions and select which ones to update. The updater would then update the selected packages with an option to upgrade (remove the old package and replace with upgraded version) or install (where it will leave the old version and install the new one)

Anything else is seriously lacking and is far behind the competition.
