Resolved autoinstall.plesk.com painfully slow from Melbourne, AU

Folks, it isn't the first time it happens, but it's particularly annoying when you're trying to apply Plesk patches at a scheduled time and the bloody installer coughs up "Error: couldn't connect to host" and takes ages to even download .inf files, with no guarantee of this even succeeding? On all Linux servers autoinstall.plesk.com resolves to:
wpc.051C.thetacdn.net.
gp1.wpc.v2cdn.net.

What's the point of using a content delivery network provider if their service is ****?

Just to follow-up: there's never been a better driver for setting up our local Plesk mirror, which is up and running for about 3 days now
