  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Being prompted for a username and password

We set up a new account on our Windows server with Plesk. Now this account is being prompted for a username and password whenever you try to visit the website. Just when anyone opens their browser to go to http://domain.com they are prompted for a username and password.

When you enter nothing for the password prompt, I get a 401 Unathorized error with the message:

Access is denied due to invalid credentials.

I tried following the steps in the thread at:

http://forum.swsoft.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23083

Logging into IIS, Right Clicking on the site in IIS, click properties.

Left click Direcotry Security, click EDIT under Authentication and access control.

ENABLE ANONYMOUS ACCESS should be ticked.

INTEGRATED WINDOWS AUTHENTICTION should be ticked.

Update the password to be the same as the FTP password for this account in plesk.

Username should look like this

IUSR_ftpusername

Click OK

Click APPLY

I tried this and it still does not seem to work. It should be noted that there are a couple of other accounts on this server and none of them appear to be having this issue.

Are there any other suggestions?

Thanks
