• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

BIND: loading master file not found at nightly rebuild

Dear all,

Bind is missing some of his master files from several domains at random after a nightly reload (around 2:20). (nightly rebuild?)

zone xxxx/IN: loading master file xxxx: file not found _default/xxx/IN: file not found

The only way to get this problem solved is manual reset the DNS settings from that domain to default (in the control Panel).

After that has been done Bind will start normally.

Are more people having this problem? Any solutions to get this solved?

Plesk: psa v10.1.1_build1010110120.18 os_CentOS 5
Bind: BIND 9.3.6-P1-RedHat-9.3.6-4.P1.el5_5.3

Do you mean that this problem has occurred after updating bind from RH repository?

It was a clean installation of Plesk on a new server. I thought I only updates Plesk and didn't use yum to update the Bind version. Only updated the PHP version to 5.2.

We have these Bind problems for the last few days when we used the Migration assistent to import more customers from the old Plesk 9.5 server.

Still having this problem that after the night my DNS files are corrupted or missing. The only way to resolve this is to manual reset the corrupted domains to Default DNS settings in the control panel.

Does anybody have some ideas where I can search for a solution what is going wrong?

Is it possible to do a manual rebuild of all the files with a debug log or something?
