• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Cannot create a "mail only" domain

I've got a client who hosts multiple websites under one domain using DNN. These domains are not related to each other. Plesk properly makes these host headers in IIS, but improperly makes them aliases all under one domain in MailEnable. So when we go to create different mail accounts, it only gives us the one domain. I tried creating a new domain, but Plesk complains it already exists. There seems to be no way to create a "mail only" domain in Plesk.

So is my only option to remote desktop into MailEnable, delete the aliases Plesk created and create separate domains so I can have separate accounts? Will Plesk destroy anything if we upgrade?

The only option is to RDP to the server and make changes from backend.

But please note that any changes u make from backend are likely to be overwritten when u make any changes through plesk after this.
