• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Change hostname to FQDN

DotanC

New Pleskian
When setting up Plesk there were no websites being hosted on the server, so when prompted for 'hostname' I entered the server's hostname as per the 'hostname' bash command: 'someHost'. Now, when redirecting from http://1.2.3.4:8443 to https://1.2.3.4:8443 (i.e. from http to https) Plesk sends the user to http://someHost:8443 which, being not a FQDN, is not valid.

I have now configured the site someSite.com to be served by the server. How can I change the Plesk 'hostname' to the FQDN of the site hosted? I have found the database table 'misc', where param='FullHostName', however that is not the proper place.

# /usr/local/psa/bin/server_pref --update -hostname host.example.com
