  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Configured Domain rename issue in Plesk

New Pleskian
Hi,

Plesk 12.5

I have about 5 domains all working fine.

Tried to get SSL loaded on two of them, first one no problem, 2nd one won't play ball!

So after much digging I think the reason SSL isn't working on is because plesk for that domain is set
up wrong!
It is the root domain that I ordered the server with........but when I first configured Plesk months ago I mistakenly entered the domain wrongly........a typo......but I never noticed because the actual domain does indeed still point to that website location.....by default I reckon.

So my question is.......what will happen if I simply correct the typo in Plesk.......?

NB. I did a test with another of my domains on the same server, I changed the domain name in Plesk, i.e. I added a typo and the browser now picks up the root domain files for teh above site instead of it's own configured http files. Thats what makes me think the root domain http files are being used for domains NOT configured in Plesk, but the DNS is pointing to my machines IP.

If I'm honest, I am bit scared to fix the typo on the problem domain as it's my servers main site with an online shop etc.......a bit scared I'll break it all, I do have a few databases running on the problem domain.

Any suggestions or help much appreciated.

Ian
