• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Could be a nightmare with Plesk when creating email

I have been a big time user of Cpanel/WHM from other hosting provider such as wiredtree, now using MediaTemple server with Plesk, there are things on Plesk that makes me very uncomfortable using when compare to Cpanel/whm

For example my current issue with:

I setup my website on Please with domain like this www.mydomain.com, I have a SSL cert that tights into this www.domain.com and a web app license that tights also to this domain.
Now, when it comes to setting up email addresses, the only email format Pleask can offer me is like this user@www.mydomain.com. WHY and HOW in the world I want my email with that format? There is no way to make my email format like user@mydomain.com.

So I talked to MediaTemple tech support, he told me that I can change to domain from www.mydomain.com to domain.com under Hosting setting for www.mydomain.com and this should allow me to do my email thing.

But he is not 100% sure that is a workable solution. I am scare to make that change because if it is not working, my website will be down. This website is now live and it's also an eCommerce site.

So can anyone confirm with me if that is the right way to fix this issue with out downtime of the website?

Thanks for your help

When you create any domain domain.com in Plesk, www prefix will work for this domain by default.
