• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Disable minimum password length

I am trying to convert to a Plesk based email server. When trying to create email accounts I am getting the message "Error: Unable to set password: The password is incorrect, use at least 5 characters." How do I disable the 5 character minimum requirement for passwords? Over half of the accounts I need to create have passwords shorter than 5 characters. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

To anyone else running into this problem, before this Plesk bug has been fixed: Passwords for email users are stored in the "accounts" table of the "psa" mysql database. Just change the password in there and run /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mail_auth_dump to update /var/lib/plesk/mail/auth/passwd.db.
