  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue DNS bind proxy on Plesk

Rossanmol

New Pleskian
Hi,

I am trying to set a dns for specific domain to /etc/named.conf, however my changes are not being applied.

As I described in this post at serverfault (http://serverfault.com/questions/836681/named-conf-setup-for-domain-dns-forwarding):

I am trying to use a custom DNS(x.x.x.x) when making a curl command to google.com on the website.

I am using bind9, how would my named.conf look like to be able to achieve that?

This is the code I added:

Code:
zone "google.com" IN {
    type forward;
    forwarders { 172.21.2.1; };
    forward only;
};

How can I achieve that, when PLESK is installed?

Hi,

What exactly are you expect?
- that curl create connect to 172.21.2.1? In other words, local named response 172.21.2.1 for google.com? Will you use curl only at this server?
- that local named asks DNS at 172.21.2.1 for IP-address for google.com?
