  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

DrWeb confusion...

As you can see quite well kitted out and we are still getting around to installng it all.

My query is regarding the Dr Web component which I am finding a little strange: -

We generally use Symantec for Windows Servers and I expected to be able to run a system virus scan after installing the license in Plesk 8.2. However I get the following: -

* Attempting to run drweb32w.exe gives a drweb32w error message "License key file mismatches application!". So am I not allowed to run interactive scanner to scan the system!

* If I send an email between two domains on our server using the SmarterMail mail engine the following email is sent to the administrator.

"The Doctor Web Anti-Virus has found viruses in the e-mail coming from "yyy@onedomain.com" to the following recipients "xxx@mydomain.com". The message was deleted."

In fact the message was delivered successfully and Symantec detected no virus in the email on the receiving email server.

Any ideas as to what I've done wrong in installing?

Plesk 8.2.0.1

Alan

Hello Alan,

Please turn off DrWeb (Plesk > Server > Components Management > AntiVirus > None) if you don't need it.

Hello Alan,

Please turn off DrWeb (Plesk > Server > Components Management > AntiVirus > None) if you don't need it.

Hi Sergius, sorry you missed my point.

I don't want to turn off DrWeb (I brought it because I need Anti-Virus and it supposed to integrate well with Plesk) I need DrWeb to: -

* Scan my domains (email and websites)
* Scan my system

If I turn it off it won't do that.

My question is why is DrWeb giving an indication of a problem (virus) and saying it's deleting the message but in fact it sends the message out. Is this a false positive indication? If so how can I suppress it.

Also should I be able to use DrWeb32W.exe to do an interactive scan of the system, something I want to do especially because of the indication on emails of a virus infection.

Please advise.

Best regards,

Alan

Actually, Dr web for Plesk is not designed for the system scan. It does scan emails rather than the server.
