• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

eMail Accounts Password Encryption

UweP

Regular Pleskian
Hi all.

Does anybody know how the passwords for email accounts are encrypted, and if the password is stored plaintext somewhere? I just want to know for some friend who wants an email address only if the password is good encrypted and if the password is not stored plaintext anywhere.

You can find all mailbox passwords with following SQL query:
select mail_name,name,password from mail left join domains on mail.dom_id = domains.id inner join accounts where mail.account_id = accounts.id;

If it is crypted use following command for decryption:

perl -MMIME::Base64 -le 'print decode_base64("$password")'
