  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

well, it seems you got a corrupted etc/yum.conf file. Ours [on CentOS7; Plesk 12.5 -] for example looks like

Code:
[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum/$basearch/$releasever
keepcache=0
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
exactarch=1
obsoletes=1
gpgcheck=1
plugins=1
installonly_limit=5
bugtracker_url=http://bugs.centos.org/set_project.php?project_id=23&ref=http://bugs.centos.org/bug_report_page.php?category=yum
distroverpkg=centos-release

# This is the default, if you make this bigger yum won't see if the metadata
# is newer on the remote and so you'll "gain" the bandwidth of not having to
# download the new metadata and "pay" for it by yum not having correct
# information.
# It is esp. important, to have correct metadata, for distributions like
# Fedora which don't keep old packages around. If you don't like this checking
# interupting your command line usage, it's much better to have something
# manually check the metadata once an hour (yum-updatesd will do this).
# metadata_expire=90m

# PUT YOUR REPOS HERE OR IN separate files named file.repo
# in /etc/yum.repos.d

which then point to /etc/yum.repos.d for actual files holding your repo list.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Hi, sorry for delay in answering. was out of reach...

log into console and try
# mv /etc/yum.conf /etc/yum.conf.old

if any errors, let us know exact error message.
If it works, just recreate a blank yum.conf and add above info as is in our yum.conf

Please let us now result

Cheers,
Tom

Hi and thx for the reply.
Logging into terminal and running the command gave no errors or any kind of acknowldgement.
When trying to update the server I still receive error messages, opening the plesk update options displays the following:
Failed to check system configuration - Yum utility finished with errors. Installation may fail.
ConfigError: Error accessing file for config file:///etc/yum.conf

I have also asked my host support for some help on this and the only solution they have given me is to reset the server, which is something I really do not want to do as I have clients who need a 24 hours service, so am really hopping that we can get this solved in some other way.

Thanks in advance for your help on this matter.

Here is also the latest error report, which I believe to be the same as previous:

your message still sais
etc/yum.conf, line: 1
'22><tr><td =\n'
but of course etc/yum.conf doesn't nclude any <tr> or <td> html tags.

You need to find a way to remove/delete/rename your corrupted file and replace it with a proper one.
Just a guess, but it may have been caused by hard drive corruption. in that case
Code:
fsck

For another possiblity please look at
http://serverfault.com/questions/565914/remove-corrupt-file-with-bad-file-name-linux
http://serverfault.com/questions/487113/cant-delete-corrupt-files-on-linux
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/1511/remove-a-corrupted-file-in-a-linux-system

My knowledge is limited when it comes to file system issues, unfortunately.

Hope above helps
