• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Event Manager: password parameter should not be encrypted

Benjamin Pichler

New Pleskian
When activating an event-handler for "Customer account created" or "Customer account updated" the parameter/environment variable "NEW_PASSWORD" is encrypted. In my opinion the password should be plaintext here instead of (aes-)encrypted to perform any further useful operation with it. Is this a bug, or is this an expected behaviour?

(With other events like "Mail account updated" the password is available in plaintext as I would expect)

Used test-environment: Plesk Panel 11.5.30 on Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit.

We have already submitted request to developers regarding this behaviour (#137887 for your reference). I will update this thread with results as soon as I receive them. Thank you for notification.

Hey, is there any update on this topic yet? .. Because we will need this bug to be corrected to offer our services as needed!
Thank You
