• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

[fixed] 12.5.30 - Backup failed

Elompenta

Regular Pleskian
On every Backup we get the Error:

Domain <Domain> is skipped from backup due to error: Can't use string ("") as a HASH ref while "strict refs" in use at /opt/psa/PMM/agents/PleskX/DAL.pm line 967.

Is there any solution to fix this issue?
I cant find a KB entry.

thanks and best regards
Sebastian

Hi Baebeca,

unfortunately, such an issue needs a deeper investigation, if the issue isn't caused by special characters for your domain and/or the depending password for the domain-user or its database(s):

Backup error: Can't use string ("") as a HASH ref ( KB - article 125 352 )

... as you can see:
Resolution
Please contact Odin Technical Support regarding the issue.
Please open a "per incident" support ticket at Odin - Official Support. You could get a refund, if it turns out, that your issue is caused by a not documented bug.

@UFHH01

Thanks - All passwords are contain special characters.
Is there any Documentation what kind of characters we can not use in password?
Domains doesnt contains special chars

Hi Baebeca,

I'm not aware of a complete listing about unallowed characters, but there is a well-known rule, what you definetly shouldn't use:

Umlauts
as for example "ü" or "ä"
( see for example: http://www.keynotesupport.com/websites/special-characters-international-letters.shtml )

special characters

as for example "\n" is used for defining a new line
( see for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unicode_characters#Latin_script )

HTML characters
as for example "<" ">" are used to define "<" and ">" symbols
( see for example: http://www.ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm )

mmhh - None of these characters are in use.
Can i check something else to bring the backups function back?

Hi Baebeca,

Plesk has some "built-in" - tools to generate passwords on several places, as for example when you create a new eMail - account, when you create a new FTP - account, or as well, when you create a new domain. If you browse to such places and generate passwords with the built-in tools, you should be on the safe side, that the created passwords are accepted all over Plesk. If you still experience the same issues, after using passwords with the built-in tools, consider to report that to Odin ( http://www.odin.com/support/plesk/bugreport/ )
