  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Format My Server

I currently have 25 domains on my Plesk 8.0.1 box. I would like to backup and format this box and upgrade OS, then reinstall Plesk. Anybody have a good step by step of how to do this and not lose any data?

Also, I am moving from Fedora Core 2 to Suse 10. Any problems with doing this?

Thank you in advance.

With all the changes, I'd highly recommend doing a Plesk Backup of each of the domains. This way, those backups can be re-imported into the new system. Save your backups off via FTP on another server, then just copy them back once you get your new server built.

As a safe method, always see if you can "test" your planned solution with a test server to see if its going to work as planned.

So I would do an individual backup of each domain, and then on my new server (or test box) import them back in.

How do I import a domain backup into a new server?

Thanks,

Ted
