  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question forwarding

Lisa95

New Pleskian
hello, I have a doubt.
I need to redirect from one site to one on siteground.
I understood that in the hosting settings I have to change the type of hosting from "website" to "forwarding". But I have some email accounts linked to the domain, if I redirect, will I lose the email accounts?

Hi Lisa95,

I did some lab research on my plesk "web admin edition".
Mail Accounts will stay even after you change from website to forwarding.

If you are unsure, you can do something like I do If there are still inportant data in webhost: Do forwarding via html code.
When you have a file index.html or index.php, rename it and add ".bak"
Create a blank file index.html und insert this:

<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=https://yourwebside.com">
</head>
</html>

Edit: in https://yourwebside.com put your Site where you want current website be forwarded to.
