• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue FTP Backup 550 permission error

Gothsome

New Pleskian
Hello me again!

I have plesk 18.0.41 Update Nr. 1.
I want to set up an external FTP Stprage for the Backups, but it cant connect:

Code:
Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: (9) Access denied to remote resource: Last FTP request: CWD / Last FTP response: 550 Permission denied

Ii is an rented space in which you cant put ans Files in the root directory.
I can connect with Filezilla and drop files at /public and the created folder /public/Plesk.

When i connect with the Storage via cli i can connect, but not navigate in the folders with the correct permissions - then there ist the Error 550 again.

I tried every combination of the Checkboxes (SFTP Target at Sftp.hidrive....)

Thank you again for your Help!

SFTP is not FTPS. For SFTP with Plesk backup you need to install a special extension for Plesk. Filezilla may automatically use SFTP, for that reason it works, but Plesk does not. It uses FTP or FTPS.

The difference is that SFTP is based on an SSH connection and protocol while FTPS is based on an FTP connection and protocol.
