FTP or VPS

Which is suggested in regards to publishing FTP or VPS?

I would think FTP would be preferred since VPS uses server resources.

I am using CPanel 10.6.0-C123.

Thoughts?

VPS mode is designed to publish directly to a Virtuozzo VE, you don't need it.
