  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Generate a new CSR without specifying the email

Plesk version and microupdate number
Plesk Obsidian 18.0.54
Hi, I have to generate a new CSR for a SSL certificate.

The SSL provider refuses the generated CSR because "In CSR we can see Email ID mentioned under Email parameter & which is not recommended. Please use “email=null” in case it's 'mandatory if CSR is generated by Tool' else kindly don't use Email Parameter."
Plesk does not allow to generate a new CSR without specifying the email, and "null" is not accepted.

How to generate a new CSR in that case?

Thanks

An email address in a CSR is not mandatory, but common. There is no security issue with having it in the CSR. If your vendor wants a CSR without, you can generate this on the Linux command line quite easily, because the CSR itself is not needed for the final certificate. Please see openssl csr - Google Suche for many articles by different sources how to create the file.
